I do like Thornbridge Jaipur IPA that I grab regularly from my local Waitrose. They also stock a fine selection of Wold Top Ales. How's your Carlsberg btw? Need to nip to Frodsham Brewery - their Titan's Bolt ale is legendary by all accounts but were out of it last time I went.
Purity's UBU- bit of a local (West Midlands) gem. It's excellent when hand pulled and bloody good in bottles. The only one I'm 100% sure sells it in E. I'm still waiting for a final appointment with my consultant, following my fifth scan and set of blood tests, but at the moment they've told me I should 'avoid alcohol completely from now on.' After 2 1/2 months of not drinking at all, I've had the odd glass of wine this week, just to see what happened and so far I've been okay. Obviously I'll keep changing consultants until I get one that tells me it's okay to drink...
Disappointed to find no Wold Top on tap in Lloyds yesterday for my ritual friday lunchtime drink. They did have Sharp's Doom Bar though, so slipped a few of those down. £1.39 a pint. That's insane.

I heard a while back that Frodsham Brewery is up for sale & at a reasonable price. Maybe we should have a Not606 whip round, we did ok with the banners.
Just for specials Bob, Mrs gets some cakey **** from there so I head up the beer aisle & you get a complimentary coffee in the coffee shop.
A bit of a mixed bag this week drinking wise, mainly because I've been off work so lunchtimes have also been involved! I was in that London for a few days and had a 2 hour bottomless cocktail lunch at the Rum Kitchen in Notting Hill. Spiciest Bloody Mary I've ever tasted, too spicy, but the sweet cocktails with Kraken (?) rum were excellent. Also had prosecco to finish as that was in the deal (that feels slightly confessional!) Went from there to Beach Blanket Babylon (also Notting Hill) for the ladies to have some ridiculously priced cocktails that smelt amazing and had flowers in them. Clearly I went back to beer and was drinking Chapeldown Curious IPA, 5.6% and it was very drinkable. I would like to try it again when my taste buds aren't put off by spending £6.50 for each 330ml bottle! Also in London had alcoholic milk shakes in a bowling alley on Brick Lane. Very nice but I can't really remember what was in them. (Rum and Oreos or something like that) Back in Hull I've veered between Red wine (Pinot Noir and Malbec mainly) Guiness, Peroni and the previously mentioned US IPAs ( Goose Island, Sierra Nevada Torpedo and Lagunitas) I need to go back to work to dry out really, but today it will be a simple lager ( Carlsberg Export ) and pretzel and nut snacks for a day of watching City and other sport on telly with family and friends By the way I think the best ranges of interesting beers out at the moment are 80 days on Princes Ave which my daughters friends own (loads of Belgian beers and IPAs etc), Henry Yeasts on Newland Avenue for food and a great beer menu and (surpringly maybe) Fruit on Humber St...beer menus on the bar with a great range of bottles. I also used to go in Hop & Vine on Albion St for real ale, but I haven't been in for a while. I'm thirsty now!
I'm not sure the Dad's Army film will live up to the standards of the series. I'm willing to give it a shot though.
Obviously! As Frank Sinatra said in "Pal Joey" (I think) when warned by his Doctor to stop drinking "I've seen more old drunks than I've seen old Doctors"! I never forgot that!
Change of plan for today. Due to this mornings cheap offer at Morrisons it's Kronenbourg for sporting TV marathon today (£15 for 36 bottles! ...42p a bottle!)
