Of course we do otherwise why would we be on here. I understand that in the modern age where 'success' really can be bought our abysmal failure to take advantage of the big money is just too frustrating for some. Those people really need to take the final step and toddle off to the Bridge or the Emirates where they will have an experience much more in keeping with their expectations. The rest of us will continue to take our warped pleasure in being loyal to a small club where success is normally just a pipe dream and admire their many 100s of fellow supporters who are dragging themselves up to Brum even though Henry and Tosser are almost nailed on for another start despite being the most uncreative midfield pairing in living memory. And we'll also think of the millions up and down the country whose clubs have enjoyed far less success than QPR in recent years but who still get themselves to the game on a regular basis. Old fashioned I know.

I don't want to support anybody else!
    Old fashioned? Perhaps.
    True to ones' values? Certainly.

For the first time ever I welcomed the internationals and enjoyed them far more than the normal Soccer weeks. And, heaven forbid, the Rugby too!

The Wales game will definitely be part of our romantic weekend (St Andrew's would be stretching it), but that probably means me being in the pub whilst the other half is out shopping. Are you near Stratford, Stan? I'd be delighted to buy you that pint if you could make it.

I'm in Leamington Spa, about 10 miles away I'd love to meet up, but although I am now officially on holiday I have so much work to finish off before I go on 'real' holiday on Sunday that I would be looking at my watch the whole time, which is not conducive to a nice pint.

You are probably all organised, but Lamb's, The Oppo (Opposition) and The Vintners all on Sheep Street in the centre of town are all good restaurants, as is the Rooftop Restaurant at the RSC - all would need booking for a Saturday night or Sunday lunch though. You might be lucky at the RSC and get a table when a play is being performed, Don't know so much about the pubs, I tend the drink in the excellent range available within walking distance of my house.....there is a nice looking one on the road by the RSC to the church closely associated with Shakespeare, you see lots of actors in there.

Have a great time, keep the romance alive!

The pub's called The Dirty Duck (which isn't promising) on Waterside, right opposite the Avon and the RSC. Which is an 'interesting' building.

    Epilogue:

This was s the choice of CR. The result is now history.

    --------------------Green---------------------
    --Perch ---Onuoha--Hall ---Konchesky--
    --------- -Sandro --------Henry--------------
    ----Phillips --------Fer ------------Chery ---
    -----------------------JET------------------------

    Subs used:
    Luongo for Fer
    Tozser for Sandro
    Polter for JET

I will soon be going for a weeks holiday and will give a break from predicting the team for the next batch of matches. There are far too many emotions. I will follow the results "au naturel"

Thanks for the recommendations. We ate at The Opposition on Saturday night, which was very good - Mrs S declared her rib-eye to be the second best steak she has eaten (number one was in Denver). I was surprised how lively the town was - it must get extremely busy in the summer. All in all a very pleasant weekend (we stayed at The Swan's Nest, which was excellent), spoilt only by the QPR and rugby results.
