There is more chance of City winning the Champions League in the next 10 years than any government telling people they can't smoke in a council house. Aesthetics isn't the right word to use.How do you relate aesthetics to the subject? The ones overseas are ones who have voluntarily joined up. God knows how the others would cope if they were conscripted.
I made it up. Seem to remember reading that in 1950, the year I was born, that two thirds of males smoked. A lot will have been like my dad, who had never smoked until he was 17 and went in the navy during the war. They were given a handout of cigarettes so he took advantage of them. Didn't manage to quit them until he was 60. Same with drink. Never had a drink until his first issue of the rum tot when he reached 18. You had to drink it there and then or not st all so most said thank you very much. He always had a bottle of Lambs Navy rum in the house, occasionally Woods 100 proof and very rarely, as it was hard to get hold of , the nectar that is Pussers Rum -145 proof. Must be where I got my liking for rum from though as he got older he never touched rum. My old man caught me smoking on a boat coming back from Germany when I was 13. I think what upset him the most was that they were State Express 555s. I can still remember him snorting contemptuously that they used to be standard issue for Yanks in the war and you could swap one packet of Players or Senior Service for 5 packs of them. Not that this stopped him taking them off me and smoking the supposedly awful things himself presumably as a favour to me and for my protection.
My car windscreen has been hit by flying cigs from cars in front of me. Good job they didn't go in my car.
It's tar that stains, nicotine is transparent and would be highly poisonous if it was concentrated enough to pool. It cleans right out of your carpets, curtains and upholstery sans le problem.
I am just wondering how a cigarette thrown out of a car in front whichhas hit your windscreen, which suggests it was thrown out of a car travelling at a bit of speed and the wind carried it onto your windscreen would,if it had been a bit further out, suddenly taken a right turn to find its way into you car. In the interests of science I am prepared to follow you in my car whilst you eject various objects the weight of a cigarette end out of your windowand count how many of them defy dynamics to end up in my car.
Maybe. But even if he had, which I doubt, it would be unlikel, given the dynamics, for a cigarette thrown out of a car moving alongin front to end up in it. Of course people could roll up alongside flicking tab ends at him but they wouldn't end up hitting his windscreen then, would they?
I could not give a monkeys on the dynamics. The lit cigs hit the edge of my windscreen so was pretty close to entering the car when my window was open. If the cig had entered the car whilst I was driving then who knows what would have happened? . My last word on this. For those trying to give up...good luck
If they hadn't hit your windscreen they would have carried on in a straight line. Unless they were radio controlled tab ends. What if someone had thrown a can or a half digested Big Mac out of their car? All selfish ****s who don't give a **** about anyone else and should be subjected to painful punishments.
I don't like breathing in people's ****, including what they call 'weed'. If they just stick people like that in a house together then fine, but sticking their **** down other people's throats...no thanks.
