About the R's or my fascinating weekend? To be honest, even if I wasn't busy I'd be watching the rugby, so there's your answer on one of them.
The R's mate. Never felt like this before but I couldn't give a toss about this team anymore. The Club has finally sucked me dry.
Snap. I've lost interest totally, it's like a really boring low grade soap opera with rubbish actors and low production values, and you feel like a fool for watching it. So you don't.
( * Put's on his best hairdresser's voice* ) Off anywhere nice this year? I think travel agents should start asking their punters ... '' Had any nice haircuts this year? ''
You'll be both feeling fine and dandy when we register a 6-0 away win at 5pm Saturday and a Karl Henry hat-trick to boot.
I shall suggest this to my barber (with the amount of hair I have, a hairdresser would be underemployed). Off to Chicago with wife and daughter who are planning to bankrupt me in the shops. But, although I'm not a big fan of baseball, we will also be going to Wrigley Field to see the Chicago Cubs with a mate who's a big fan. They have a genuine chance of getting to the World Series, which they last won in 1908. As my mate says 'everyone is entitled to an off century', which should be our motto for QPR. But I'm mainly going for the Blues Brothers references.
I shall be on my todd for this one after dumping the missus at the Bullring. From experience it's not a great place to get a pint and decent food near the ground. Any ideas?
Bang on Col he is a limited player CR has a tough job as always building a team from a club that has been dropped It's going fine and I will catch a few games no doubt Understand how flat it feels but we still have a great chance to be in the mix in this league TF saying promotion is everything in a tweet is again him buggering about If this team makes it this season then it will need massive investment again and probably a proven European coach to stay in the top tier I hope we build a core and go up with a good team in a few seasons time All of us have to wait because this club currently does not deserve it.
Drink/eat in the centre of town, the pubs around St Andrews are not pleasant, welcoming places. You can get a semi decent balti pie in the ground though.
A Actually I do Swordsy...I would be there other than its my eldest daughters birthday.... As says in my sig, I am a lifer and I do give a sh1t, I thought everyone who took the bother to come on the board did. CR will sort out the defence, and it will all be hunky dory, I am sure...
To be honest Beth I come on this board because there are good characters on here and the off topic threads can be great fun. I have cut down commenting on the manager, team selection etc because I'm not that interested any more and they are so repetitive. As you know, I support QPR, but there is no blind loyalty. I'll be back at Loftus Road sometime soon, but more to meet up with you and the lads than in any expectation that I will see a decent game of football, be entertained, or, crucially, care about any of the players. St Andrews is a 30 minute drive from my house but, were I not up to my eyeballs in other stuff anyway I would definitely prefer to watch Wales v South Africa, which I am hoping to make time for. If it wasn't for these distractions I'd be offering Stroller the chance to buy me the pint he owes me in Stratford, to add to the romance of his weekend.
I am just going to have to accept that my blind loyalty is not the norm. What I am trying to say is, this is my team.....I am not blind to their faults, in fact, due to my "attained through the years" knowledge, I know more about their faults than most other people (those who are not that interested in QPR for example). I acknowledge all their faults, I acknowledge all the times I have been embarrassed by my team (Faulingate, Bartons sending off, the Goon years), I do not pretend that this team should be in the Premiership, or even battling for promotion. I acknowledge we are a bunch of basketcases, but they are MY basketcases. But still they are my team, and having got to 62 without wavering....it looks as though they always will be. I can go to "other" matches and enjoy the game, purr over the football (or rugby)...but there is no other stadium I can go to and get gut-wrenching sorrow or (Bolton 94th minute) unadulterated pure joy and relief. They have my blind loyalty, but with, I hope, an understanding of their frailties.
''Everyone is entitled to an off century.'' Love it, that's a great motto and very apt for us. I usually head for Corporation Street right in the city centre, plenty of restaurants and bars there and it's close to the station. The other problem are these bloody International breaks where we get mostly 2 weeks of pure tedium, another one to endure in a month or so for the Euro Play Offs and whoever Wayne or Harry is going to score against....... As for the R's I've got to the stage in my life when nothing they do really surprises me although it looks as if TF and LF have upped the ante a tad in recent days so it looks like forget consolidation for a couple of years, it's a full blown tilt at promotion..... Come 3pm tomorrow afternoon I shall be following the game by any means possible despite being up to my arm pits in work related matters, this will no doubt annoy Mrs TR, but hey it's a bit of an addiction...... Up the R's......
