The club's response to this information is we get 3 free tickets for cup games. Yippy do.

My £379.00 for the year looks dirt cheap for a half way line seat. I don't spend money on food, drink, programmes and club shop items none of which I need thus keeping the cost to a minimum. Mind you I am a poor pensioner <whistle>.

The more they publish these articles the less publicity is generated. There is little shock value, but I must say that £531 is ridiculous for a cheapest priced pass. I do understand that with the view inside the stadium being almost the same wherever you sit the variance between the bottom and the top prices should not really vary that much.

Running the club from a commercial point should be really easy with the number of loyal supporters. Mooney's response on the link above was somewhere along the lines of that when Premier League income increases it generates an upward spiral towards agent fees, transfer fees and contract payments. I don't know why clubs just don't say no. The response from Mooney was second rate. He need to do better but know he is probably working with both hands tied behind his back

Is it really rocket science to put up big screens in the concourse to watch the TV games (12:30 kick offs), offering cheaper beer (and better quality) to get more bodies in earlier. Or put up pop-up shops into the concourses pre/post games to shift more merchandise. Or put in vending machines to further increase sales for those not wanting to queue. Half time will always be a bottle neck. Surely that's an easy one to solve!

Bayern Munich fans are boycotting the first five minutes of next weeks Champions League game, as a protest over Arsenal's ticket prices (EUFA won't like a protest at their flagship competition).

The cheapest season ticket is cheaper at more than half the Premier league clubs. Man Utd is £1 more, Man City cheaper.

I really cant believe with everything that has gone on in such an economically challenged city as Hull that people roll over and pay this.

The club using the three free cup games to defend it is very cheeky. They only put that clause in retrospectively when they realised they couldn't raise the prices further after the cutoff point as they'd originally said, meaning anyone who bought before the cutoff bought them on the false pretence that they had to buy early to get the slightly less extortionate price. I know that some fans took legal action against the club for that which is still ongoing now.

Yes, but what do people pay at those clubs when the (very few) cheap tickets have gone?

Of course a lowest price as high as ours is indefensible. James Mooney, in response to the lowest price at reading replied that one difference was thatbReading owned their own ground. I wonder who he got that from?

I've not renewed for the first time since 1982. I still enjoy attending the occasional game, but don't overly miss going, although maybe it's just me that's changed!

Went to Accrington and will do MK Dons to add to my list of 124 grounds I've seen City play at.

I still love Hull City but I don't think I love football anymore, it's just become a bit of a hobby or pastime now for me.

Football has ****ed itself up to be honest

Yet over 18,000, more than our average home attendance, applied for tickets. Add in the cost of travel and that is a lot of people with spare dosh. Though how long that will continue with the situation in Germany at the moment is another question.

    Are you me?
For a few seasons the best part of having a season tickets has simply been meeting up with friends.
I still get excited / stressed / pissed off when watching the game, and Hull City is still really important to me, but I've definitely been falling out of love with football in general for a long time
It's not a beautiful game anymore, well not one that's beautiful without its false breasts, liposuction, Botox, airbrushing and ridiculously overpriced clothes and shoes anyway ... I preferred it when it was the pretty girl next door

Going to games just the ticket for fans as prices on decrease...

Middlesbrough, Leeds United, Rotherham United and Bradford City have all lowered the price of their cheapest season ticket.

However, some outliers have increased their season ticket prices. Hull City, relegated from the Premier League last season, increased the cost of the cheapest season ticket from £501 to £531.

Accordingly, average attendances in the ground have dropped to 17,205 from 23,557.

Attendances have fallen even further than the last time Hull were relegated. Between 2010 and 2011, they only fell from 24,390 to 21,169, compared to the drop of over 6,000 fans this time around.

Ryan Kerr of the Hull City Supporters’ Trust believes the increase in cost has made a difference.

He told The Yorkshire Post: “It is very expensive to watch City and it has gone up an awful lot in the last couple of years.

There was a huge price rise at the start of the 2013/14 season and even this summer, having been relegated to the
Championship, the prices went up again.

“We’ve lost several thousand fans compared to the last time we got relegated from the Premier League, and whilst some of that is obviously a result of the poor relationship between the fans and the club’s owners, the ticket prices are undoubtedly another big reason for it.

“A price rise upon relegation seems to have been the final straw for many.”

I'm the same, started to follow cricket again, football and footballers have disappeared up their own arses the last few years. Last season was a turning point for me seeing all the overpaid dummies in our squad go down against the likes of Burnley without a whimper, leaving the fight to proper old school pros like Mcshane who they couldn't even be bothered to keep on for all his efforts, this season they've sold Chester, fair enough Davies is playing well this season but what happened to him last year, he's playing for a move

City's prices are shameful and are the sole reason I am currently not attending.

I think they call it 'cleansing'.

I will not be fleeced. See you in a few years when it is recalculated to something sensible by someone who doesn't despise normal football fans.

Why is a Hull United season ticket holder and supporter quoted on issues around our club? Why wasn't HE honest about his reason for boycotting our club whilst a director of the trust?

    Wrong message?

I think I have mentioned this previously. A football 'model' club would have fans in 2 hours before, spending money, creating an atmosphere, been entertained. Yes local pubs will suffer which is the down side but at the end of the day the club is a business.

He has a unique perspective, as a long standing season ticket holder at City, along with being a season ticket holder at another local club who give their season tickets away free. Nobody better qualified to talk about local season ticket prices.

    Yours usually are.
