Was this when Tash was conducting his manhunt for you? Did you consider it a worrying omen?

You could be right, of course. I'm not sure where Gambol lives so it's difficult to say. If he lives anywhere near the Falls of Clyde (which are in Lanarkshire right enough) then it could very well be a Peregrine.

One thing I think we all can agree on is that it wasn't a Kestrel.

ps I found a dead badger this morning.

Try the stuff in the black can. Two tins of that and you'll be shouting at dead relatives.

A great shame to hear about the badger. Early morning drives are an ever-increasing source of heartbreak.

I think Gambol lives across the road from the Alloa Athletic football ground. That's where I used to meet him, anyhow.

Alloa is in Clackmannanshire, not Lanarkshire, I think.

I know, I know, but I used to meet Gambol at the Indodrill Stadium. We used to do a bum in the away dugout.

Why did you say that he lives across from it then? Are you lying to me?

Well he doesn't live in it, does he?

I used to park up outside the west stand, and eventually I'd spy him in the rear-view mirror, striding across the road towards me, his chinos already discarded. And the fact he always had a heated Fray Bentos pie with him led me to believe he lived in the immediate vicinity. Whether he still does, I don't know.

    I'd never lie to you.

Then why the **** did you say he "lives across the road from the Alloa Athletic football ground"? I'm beginning to think you aren't even the real Ponders

I've stated my reasons for believing he lived across the road. It all adds up, don't you reckon? Anyway, once we'd he'd finished our bum, he would always shoot off to top up his budgie's millet. He was a local to Alloa, methinks.
