seriously though if Abel can keep banging them in for us AND stay in the Uruguay set-up we're onto a winner as his confidence and experience will continue to rise and his price tag

Matt, he isn't 'poor' at this level and I never said he was - he's got 5 from 8. That's above average in the Championship.
I said he ain't worth 10 million and isn't up to Premier League standard.

We haven't got anyone else until Diamonde gets up to scratch and I still believe that Bruce is looking at possible signings in the 'striker' category.
The general consensus (I believe) is that we want Hernandez sold (and therefore his wages off the books) so we can bring these players in.

I don't often agree with you but yeah, this.

We don't have enough up front as things stand.

With Hernandez, Akpom, Diomande, Aluko and Luer already in the building, I don't expect we're looking to add another striker.

If we were going to add another striker on loan, we'd have done it while Diamonde was out.

I don't think we can afford one OLM whilst Hernandez is on the books?

If we weren't scoring enough goals, I'm sure we'd look to bring someone in to remedy that (whoever we had on the books), but we are, so we won't.

If we flog someone in Jan, we'll obviously look to replace them, but I don't think we'll actively be looking to get rid of anyone, or to bring anyone else in.

Unless someone comes in with a big offer for Taylor. :emoticon-0112-wonde

With the competition we have for places in the squad, I don't think reinforcements are necessary unless we get a bad injury or somebody leaves in January. We still have Snodders to come back and Diomande is nearly ready so fitting those two in is a task in of itself. Maybe some cover at LB for Robertson and maybe a new keeper to push McGregor for the number 1 spot if SB doesn't think Watson is ready, but I'm knitpicking and wouldn't be disappointed if we didn't bother at all, saved our money and went with what we had.

Of course there'll be people moaning that we haven't brought in anybody, but there always is.

Goalkeeper is probably the one spot we need as cover, Jak just isn't sufficient if McG gets injured or has a bad streak! There's always the emergency loan situation, but it's still risky, even going into Christmas with just Jak & some kids as back up!
Unless SB has faith in them?

Brucey does have faith in both, he said about Jak after his last game and lamented his ability to make a mistake when he gets an opportunity. However he also said he's a good keeper, which is good enough for me. I don't expect his contract to be renewed in Summer, so we might look at a keeper in January, but he's ample cover as third choice while his contract runs down.

I think Jakupovic will probably be replaced in summer, can't imagine him being handed another deal and I really don't think we'll waste wages on another back up keeper for the time being when we already have 3 to choose from

While I'm not agreeing with Roo, yes Hernandez is scoring goals but i wouldnt fancy him in the PL. Simple as that.

The trouble with Roo's arguement is he sets it at an impossible level so he cant be wrong. In the PL we'll probably never have a player scoring 1 in 3.1 in 4 at best. If we did they'd be gone within a year.
