I think the second goal was Barcelona-esque. The 3rd showed great feet

Hernandez has been a lot better than last season but he's not suddenly one of our best players. People talking about hanging onto him like he's a prized asset is a bit over the top. We need more from the strikers than what we've seen so far this season. Hernandez has been the best of course, but none of them have been as involved in the play as much as we need them to be.

I agree, I think Abel has much more to come.
I disagree, I think he's currently one of our best players and will improve.

I think City fans always go over the top when a striker scores a few goals. He's got 5 is it now? And yes its nice to have an opportunistic finisher. But we need the strikers to do more in terms of getting us into good positions. If they can do that then the team will score a lot more than we do at the moment. Too often our strikers are just marked out of the game.

I suppose it comes with being so starved of regular goalscorers. I remember talking to a QPR fan in the summer who was hoping they'd sell Austin for big money because he wasn't that good in general play, in the fan's opinion, and his goal tally flattered him.

The Scunny one happened somewhere around my birthday, was a nice present.

    McLean scored a brace anarl.

Fryatt never got the credit he deserved IMO. He deserves to be as fondly regarded as Koren, McShane or Rosey but it doesn't feel like he is.

Yep I remember that game pretty distinctly, McLean had some weird surgeon celebration.

Didn't remember the Barnsley one at all.

I remember Fryatt could've scored a hattrick against Doncaster once as well, but he squared the ball to McLean, who duly cocked up and missed.

Oh God I forgot about that. McLean just fell over it when all he had to do was make some meaningful contact with the ball.

    Yep.

I found the game on YT but unsurprisingly the cockup is edited out.

EDIT: Scratch that, I found this <laugh>

Some shockers in that. Forgot about Barmby's even though I was there, but that was probably because I couldn't see it.

That one vs TWS were about 30 seconds into the match if I recall.

Of all those misses I think the Harper one is the worst.

Bit harsh on Simpson...I thought he was offside so tried to avoid the ball?
Macleans second one was unbelievable though !

I miss Matty, I know he often took too many touches, but he played some really tidy football and one in three was still a good return for us.

McLean was crap, it's no wonder he's ended up at Barnet.

And Harper was crapper, he's at Basingstoke Town in the National League South and still hasn't found his shin-pads.

We had someone else playing without shinpads the other week. Might have been Hernandez.

How many times did McLean do that or something very similar.

Jelavic did the exact same thing countless times but no one would ever mention it, as if it just never happened.

Remember Prozzies one at home v Derby. Just as bad if not worse than McLeans against Donny.

Ah yes, it made me £200+ that night, first scorer & correct score, luckily for me he missed another late on, but then so did Barnsley!

Hernandez could hardly speak more than three words of English last season and really struggled to settle.

After he didn't move over the summer he's now started taking English lessons. Must be helping him fit in a bit more.

He's looking a lot more confident this year and seems to be enjoying his football. Big improvement over last year when he seemed lightweight and unsure. Hope we can hang on to him in January but there will surely be bids coming in. The combination with a fit bustling Diomande could be exciting.

I seem to recall the arse falling out of Abel's form after his first trip away for international duty last year.....hope the same doesn't happen again, on a separate note, who'd have thought lethal Aaron would get 2/5 on the worst misses of the season highlights.....
