Slaves had no choice. Criminals chose to break the law.

Just going slightly of on a tangent.
Everyone is capable of killing another human being. Some more easy so than others.

What would be your breaking point?

People's tolerance levels are way too high, that's what's wrong with society.

When a waiter fetches you a Pepsi instead of a Coke... off with his ****ing head.

Don't ask questions, just strike, whilst they don't expect it. Right through the face, with a fork.

Sorry but I disagree - whatever happens to you if you're a convicted murderer shouldn't become front page news for human rights. The system is completely ****ed up and inmates get more privileges than a lot of working class people who struggle to get by! Games consoles and TV's in their cells etc. (I volunteered in Durham prison for a few months when I was 18 and the way the prisoners are treated is better than the way they treat the public!)

You kill someone and get put into prison for 12 years and released to general society with a hefty payout to help re-integrate you into society and a new identity etc. Yet some unemplyed bloke who has been paid off by SSL will get less than one tenth of the help that an ex prisoner will get. Tax payers pay millions to keep these people in a prison - death penalty (for the most heinous crimes) would remove the cost to the tax payer - Cameron sent a drone to kill two IS people and, therefore, condemned them to death without trial or defence (don;t think he did anything wrong by the way) but he will not do the same for someone over here - they will be put in prison and left there!

Right - Soap box folded up and back under the bed!!

I'm not saying it should be a holiday camp chief. I don't think they should have luxuries. I don't think they should be paid off.

I think they should concentrate on educating these people. Teaching them trades, helping them get degrees so on and so forth. Make them useful.

There's a difference between making it easy for them and helping them become a useful, viable part of society.

I'd agree with the death penalty over stuff like keeping people in solitary for years or treating them as slaves but only as the lesser of two evils. Ideally we'd actually use that time inside to rehabilitate them and make them functioning members of society. Not just torture them as they tortured others. I don't really see how that would help.

Hang them by their nose hair, nose hair should be banned anyway, people should be hung by their nose hair for having nose hair.
