Cool,iv'e just found out i don't have to log on any more ! Everyone else the same ? It was a pain having type my name in every time !
OK. I got a text which others have seen from a very reliable source that said that Bullard and the Pearsons had made up as the Allams want Jimmy to finally earn his money. Bullard has trained hard and well whilst away. So lets wait and see eh re Bullard.
so basically Jimmy got lashed & has been fined.. he does my head in, can't imagine what NP makes of him.. with him around we miss out on Danns and if he goes too late we've less chance of replacing him cos good honest pros like Greening have already been snapped up..
Where has it even been reported that he didn't train on Friday? Also, Ehab Allam seemed to suggest that Bullard is not included in the wage structure, so even if he did go, would it necessarily mean anybody else came in to replace him?
with our abundance of centre midfielders I doubt he will be. However i have said since this time last year i really do believe that Hull City will own Jimmys contract until the end of the current deal he will not move on. This is due to clubs not willing to match our great contract and him not motivated to play at a higher level as long as hes on 45k. If he has patched it up with NP then fantastic for us. I think some on this board like to make up stories about Jimmy B, not suggesting this one defo is OLM (although someone could be feeding you with ****) but i mean over the years.
I think if Oli and Jimmy go then we'll definitely bring someone else in, if neither go, then we obviously won't. I don't know if we'll manage to shift Jimmy or not, I just know we want to and he wants to go, but as there's no decent offers on the table at the moment, we'll just have to wait and see what happens.
It was my understanding that they weren't included in the playing budget given to the Pearsons, so whether they were here or not wouldn't have any bearing on other players coming through. http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/p00hwk1v/Sports_Talk_14_07_2011/ (15 mins in) What are you basing this on?
I think the Oli situation is irrelevant to JB's. Oli is nowhere near worth what he is on, and should be shipped out at the earliest opportunity with no need for a replacement as he probably wouldn't get in the team if the season starte now anyway. JB however is our best player and he is exactly what we've missed all of last season. If we keep him, brilliant, if he does go then I hope (and I am confident) that NP will have a replacement lined up, because if we play this season without a playmaker again, we're ****ed. Also, Chester and Hobbs are great but behind them we've got nobody. We need another centre back as much as we need another goalie, if not more. Ayala would be lovely.
I am pretty sure NP would never have let Cooper go out on loan if we nare looking for another centre back, we have got Hobbs and CHester and possibly Macca as back up, there is definately someone else on the way at the back!
That's my understanding as well. There was an article a few weeks ago that gave me that impression but I didn't want to read into it too far as the source wasn't particularly reliable. It did seem to be confirmed in that interview the other night though. Ehab definately said that NP had a budget and that several players, and specifically Bullard were not included in it as the Allams were going to ensure the club wasn't held back by the mistakes of the previous management. That's why I started the thread asking whether we had a different view about the importance of offloading the big 5. I was thinking more of McShane, who we're all pretty much agreed is a decent option as cover for Rosenior but earns way too much for that role to be justified as it takes up the wages of 2 or 3 very good Championship defenders. But with him not in the budget he's not stopping us sign those players anymore, so the argument against keeping him is gone. (Other than not wanting to take liberties with the Allam's money after the amount they've already helped us out). The only impact it will have is from NP's point of view. If he has £10M a year to spend and we've got Bullard and Olofinjana in the squad along with Koren he's less likely to want to spend £600k+ (plus maybe a transfer fee) on another attacking midfielder (as Olof scored 14 goals in a season for Wolves at this level I'm guessing he can do that) like Danns than he would be if they'd gone. With them here he has an option and the money is better spent elsewhere, with them gone it would become a more important position to fill and you coulld justify spending more of the budget on it.
Regardless of what the plans are, if we're committed to spending £3.5m a year in wages on these two(or £7m until the end of their contracts), then having burden removed is likely to make the Allam's far more flexible if there is someone NP wants to add, either now or in the Jan window.
Allam said that Bullard takes up around 20% of the wage bill but it's budgeted for. What he was pointing out is that although we won't go into administration it limits the possibilities. We've done well today though, Brady & Gulacsi in on loan.
That's not what Ehab said this week. He stated that NP has a budget and that several players (naming Bullard as one specifically) aren't part of it even though they're still here.
Phil Buckingham said on twitter that AP expects Adriano Basso to sign a 1 year contract in the next day or two.
