In answer to the previous question [not quoted], can I just say that I expect Mane will be going nowhere until he has one year left on his contract, on three provisos. 1] He doesn't do a complete attitude turn around and starts to kick up a stink about wanting to play elewhere. 2] Any club wanting him actually offers a fee that is way past Saints valuation of him. 3] Koeman saying it's OK, we can do better. On 1] It has been reported in the past that he downed tools with Red Bull Salzburg, demanding to leave. But then how come his return during the close season was so warmly welcomed.? Don't believe everything one reads. On 2] I'd assume Saints valuation would be stupidly high, but even if the valuation was met they could just say no until the time is right for the club. On 3] Koeman isn't stupid. Mane was a real find by Les and the recruitment team, and Ronald will want to keep him for another season or two.
I remember Mane saying he was looking forward to returning there, but I think he was booed by some fans. Didn't know that rumour, so was surprised.
I have rather good sound systems on my computers so when I bother to listen closely [like I wasn't for the Chelsea match] I can pick out quite a lot of detail. I'll look up the truth of some of that in the highlights. At the time I wasn't aware of any directed booing.
Sometimes TSS it's not about the sound system but how "tuned in" the person is to hearing things. Football noise is a frequency and wavelength of its own. They were booing him. If I recall correctly, that was the tournament with the fabulous commentator too. He even commented about Mane having a good reception... While they were booing him!! You'll need to check both games in that mini tournament.
I have been invited to "hospitality" at Northampton and can pick a game. Sadly the blue few are here when Saints are at home to Spuds. Despite the fact it'd be fun, I'll not be missing that game!!
