He is now claiming Liverpool Got Klopp because Ancelotti turned the job down. Whereas such a scenario is feasible it's a bit absurd that Liverpool would have communicated that to him. He's guessing and making a fool out of himself by taking his random guesses to the media as fact. He seems a bit obsessed with Liverpool over the years. The ramblings of a jilted lover. Probably angry that as many times as we've changed managers in the last 10 years he has never even been considered... And he so desperately wants a big club having managed only mediocre clubs. Redknapp you fool. No-one believes you are in Liverpool's inner circle with intimate knowledge about the club. Redknapp is the same guy who publicly begged Klopp to not take Liverpool job too. Has a chip on his shoulder.
I heard the interview, he said he had it on good authority that Ancelotti had knocked back the Liverpool job. Who knows whether his info was right or not, but I'm sure he was re-iterating it in good faith.
Point is should he be opening his mouth at all? On good authority eh? I suppose he may want a job as a pundit of Journo so needs to be in the media highlighting what a bellend he is.
They'd asked him about the possibility of Ancelotti returning to the PL, so it's not like he set out to have a pop, he just answered the question and chucked in that he'd heard he'd already knocked back the RS
Redknapp has managed a club as big as Liverpool if we are to agree with Jamie Carragher who branded Liverpool the new Spurs. As far as Redknapps comments go, not sure why he would just make that up, seems a strange thing to just come out and say. Liverpool wouldn't have to tell him, Redknapp knows a lot of people within the game, having worked in it most of his life, so it seems perfectly feasible that an agent maybe has discussed it with him. It seems pretty obvious though, as anyone with half a brain would choose Ancelotti over Klopp when you look at both managers CVs. Ancelotti is the best manager in the game today. He's obviously waiting for an approach from a big club though
Pretty sure it's been widely publicised that we spoke to Ancelotti and Klopps representatives. Ancelotti confirmed he wants to retrn in January... To make it seem a bigger story than it is, people have put those 2 things together and claim he turned us down so we went for Klopp. Technically, not untrue, but the context and when looking at the details you can see how this is such a non story.
You don't offer someone the job without even interviewing them. Ancelotti may well have been approached before Klopp because, as we've heard rumoured, the club approached both men but offered him the job - I don't think so.
Yeah. 'Onest 'Arry wouldn't tell porkies, would he? ************** Who cares? We got the man most of us wanted, and I doubt he'll be kept awake at night by the thought that he was second choice to one of the most successful managers around, if that were indeed the case.
JC said we were IN DANGER of becoming the New Spurs. We're not there yet. The club still has ambition and a name that appeals across Europe and to global sponsors. I agree with JC though. A few more years of mediocrity and we will be just another Spudlike club.
"Former Spuds manager tries to stir the pot before we play the Spuds" #shock Amazing how we contacted AND interviewed Carlo without anyone else getting wind of it ... This post is sponsored by Harry's Second Hand Sauces.....the sauce you can trust.
For all our years of mediocrity(minus our cup winning years)not winning the title LFC is still a bigger club than Spurs in size, in value and in success but its not turning into a new Spurs that's the worry its remaining the present Liverpool. Klopp has a chance to wipe the slate clean and bring our youth and senior squad up to scratch and to find that winning formula we lost many years ago. I'm backing him to do it.
