Eh? Your point is somewhat confused, as you said you can't / won't pay big wages, but it's been proven to you that you both have and can....
We have the money to pay the high transfer fees. We have the money to pay the required wages abut we don't because we maintain a strict wage structure implemented by FSG. The wage structure restricts us when it comes to signing top players. That is not me moaning that other big clubs have more money to spend than us. It is me saying we our are own worst enemy because we are stopping ourselves from competing with those other big clubs by implementing such a wage structure. Until we start paying top wages, we'll continue to struggle to attract the top players. The two examples given of top wages being paid is Milner on £150k, that isn't a top wage and he is also out on his own at Liverpool too, not to mention arriving on a free. And Suarez who is long gone anyway. PS...I understand you thinking these are top wages with you being an Everton fan though pal
That's an absolute crock of ****e. You gave Suarez a £200k per week contract, so you've broken this supposed wage ceiling (who's knocked you back due to it, and who's even confirmed it exists btw???) So that smashes the theory that you won't / can't pay the wages, it ends there. The reason you can't sign the very best, is due to lack of CL football and some utterly dogshit transfer decisions, based on the moneyball bollocks
Suarez's initial wage would prove a huge problem to any prospective top player signing, City had **** all to offer except mega wages when the sheik bought the club, their recent successes followed and now they can attract top players with a combination of high wages and CL football. Our owners are not gonna follow that route, they don't like to speculate to accumulate they want to buy them young, pay low/lowish wages and coach them then sell them on at a profit.
Typically by the time one reaches adulthood they have more sophisticated pallets than "yellow submarine". YNWA isn't dreary it's beautiful, inspiring and reflective. Adults typically enjoy songs that cover all emotions from whimsical to sadness... But go ahead keep listening to yellow submarine and watching yo gsbba gabba reruns UIR don't be ashamed of your youthful mental state. Its really wonderful when people can hold onto their youthful innocence.
They can't pay an entire squad £200k a week or do what City did when they bought the league pre-FFP, but that wasn't the point. The argument that you can't pay a top player, top wages is utter turd.
Of course we CAN pay top wages but as has been said, so far since the club was bought by FSG/NESN its not part of their policy, if they want to really compete they have to change their entire transfer policy to suit.
*cough* *apart from Suarez* *cough* #thepoint Are you seriously trying to tell me that if the committee / manager had decided to spend most of their window's budget on 2 or 3 players instead of ****ing 9, then they couldn't / wouldn't have been allowed to pay a player another £50k per week as long as it sat with the total allowed for total player investment i.e. wages plus fees???? Really.............
Just thought I'd throw in [because he was mentioned earlier] that Sanchez is on less with Arsenal than Milner is with us, £130k, He didn't fancy living in Liverpool.
Its one of the worst ever songs mate. Its absolute utter ****e. And that's being as kind as possible Yellow sub was just the ****test Beatles song I could think of. They were mostly ****e as well.
