For me it 'achieved' this - Have you ever had a funny feeling about someone and not taken to them but you can't point to anything specific as to why you feel like that? And some time later you find out that they did something shady or had a some dark secret - you feel sort of vindicated and the 'feelings' you had about them that you couldn't explain are validated.
Fair enough, was just asking For me, its all irrelevant. He was our manager and now he isn't. Everyone is entitled to opinion and, of course, there are always two sides (at least) to a story. Maybe he's hoping Liverpool fans will hate him. The FA will take a big note of that and it will be a big plus for him when the England job becomes available.
Rodgers could have said something like 'what previous managers did has no bearing on what I do' [in his own inimitable choice of words .. obviously] but two things 1. why would he say 'is the microphone on?' before saying it. 2. why would Bennett report it using the words he did if it wasn't as close to what he remembered?
