This is so true, we need to let them come at us. win possession then feed it to Vardy and he will run the pants off them, and score.

... with the perfect stage for James Milner to give the opposition keeper some catching practice once more...

    England: 1 Butland 2 Walker 3 Gibbs 4 Shelvey 5 Jones 6 Jagielka (c) 7 Chamberlain 8 Barkley 9 Vardy 10 Kane 11 Lallana

Sure it's a pointless match against nobodies on a plastic pitch but..

England are never going to win a tournament by out passing, espicially a Spain or Germany, so it is pure moronic pandering that the likes of Wayne Carthorse and James Jacksshiteoffalltrades get a look in. Get the team filled with pace, like Vardy and Walcott, with Townsend, Walker, Ox etc as well, and have Michael Carrick pinging passes around like ****ing Yoda, and we'd do a lot better. If I were England manager, fatfuck Roo wouldn't be first choice to mow the grass.

You see this is where I´m clever... I don´t watch England games so I ain´t worked up, pulling my hair out hours, days later.

Shame JV ain´t scored yet but playing ´out of position` or ´not being used right´ doesn´t help. Still he´s back at LC today & an important game to get ready for on Sat.

May not be a popular view, but I dont think JV should play for England against teams where we know we will dominate possession. Would love to see JV and Walcott partnered up front against teams where we know we will have minimal possession ie Spain, Germany etc. Counter attacking with pace has proved incredibly exciting for us end of last season and beginning of this.

..I'd agree ..that ponderous build-up does not suit Vards ... and if we do that in the real tournament against better teams we'll get mullered .. in fact, the only chance we really have will be a counter attack strike force like Walcott and Vards .. if zzWoy starts with Rooney AND Milner, I'll probably switch over :)

That is most likely Vardy's last start for England - and if the likes of Sturridge and Welbeck get fit, also the last time he will play for England as Hodgeson priorities the bigger clubs.

It's a great honour for Vardy to get the call up & all that but frankly I spent most of the match hoping he didn't get injured.

Theres the problem, Vardy will do better against teams that come at us, which are games Woy will only put in the do nothing regulars like Rooney and Welbeck, no way he'd take a chance with Vardy in those games.

Don't think Vardy received one decent pass all game everyone just kept play the ball to Harry Kane! Poor old Vardy was almost sent to Coventry by his so called team mates?

That looked nothing like the Vardy we know! Against Estonia he was played up front and grabbed an assist almost immediately, he was utterly wasted on the wing, especially because every time Kane got the ball he just leathered it at the goalkeeper, there were many occasions when Vardy was in a much better position. Very frustrating, but we all know that he will perform for us so not all that bothered.

Serious question. Do you guys actually believe Vardy is good enough to be an international player? Yes he has been in tremendous form this season, no doubt about that and I have actually really enjoyed watching him when I have been watching Leicester games but to me he just isn't international standard. Pretty much because of the reasons you guys have said in this thread. He doesn't seem capable of changing his game accordingly so that he is effective. He is NEVER gonna be the main man for england so the team will never be set up around him. He needs to adapt and find a way to become effective otherwise its just a waste of a spot in the team imo.
