I don't think anyone has suggested that anyone agreed with an agenda of corruption, what they suggested is that the motivation for doing everything possible to get an exclusive was driven by the fact that they sell more papers when they do.

As in - most of them probably didn't even think about. Contrary to what some people say many people don't buy papers for headlines or scandal.

The tits yes, but the football was pretty good, for example City usually had at least half a page for match reports when most other papers had nothing.

So will these people go cold turkey or start a new "habit"?

I guess the question is "Will circulation figures of the other redtops increase as a result of this?"

They will until the Sunday Sun comes out, because it's the same format as the NotW and is already the biggest daily.

I know, but that's hardly surprising at the moment and it makes you wonder why they've just bought the Sunday Sun web domain.

"Sir Paul Stephenson revealed almost a quarter of the force's communications team previously worked for the newspaper group."
    It just gets worse.
Also Tories admit that NoTW's Neil Wallis (who was advising the Met) was also advising Coulson who was advising Cameron.
Plus a bloke takes a pop at Murdoch during MP's questions.

I can't believe they've managed to make so much of a news story out of something we were predicting nearly 8 months ago.

Has anyone seen an actual advert for the new paper, or is Murdoch leaving it to the BBC to give him it all for free?

i havn't bought a newspaper in years and the BBC is fast becoming populist junk news too ...
its quite sad looking at how the once mighty BBC news reporting is dragging itself through the hype and knicker sniffing guttural "stories"

The BBC is also one of the most heavily censored news organisations in ahem a democratic society

And they're obsessed with Apple, see how many programmes go by without them featuring an iphone or an ipad. I know drama/comedy/soap wise there's a need for phones etc to be reflective of what people have so there'll be iphones and other things. But with "presented" shows done in studios it's ridiculous how often they have the placement. (I'll give them freedom for things like the F1 where they're going round the pitlane doing all sorts of things)
