SO after all THAT! you now say it's a different song. If it is a different song to the one you claim Utd sang, how could you have sung it first. What are you smoking at the arse end of the East Lancs Rd
Were talking firsts. In that sense we were. It was a suitable choice for a funeral/mu It was from a musical. Your lot sing the rip off version. I've never seen the musical however I would assume the chart version was different, seeing as the song structures would have been very different.
This is the original. It too is a miserable, dreary song of doom and gloom. Horrible. Seems like it could be the sane song though.
Football fans on the terraces randomly singing a ditty from a musical? **** off mate, the kopites sang it first after the hideous song was put out there by Gerry Marsden and Co. There's no evidence to suggest otherwise, Celtics claim to it is spurious as well for exactly the same reason, the reality is that they merely copied the RS.
Football fans sing a variety of songs from a variety of sources. It sounds more like something out of church tbh so I can understand it being sang, in 58 after Munich. The kopites sing a commercial version though. One I would assume was far more known by then. At Old Trafford, I would think it was closer to a hymn.
I seriously doubt it was sung by more than just the choir the lady was in as football fans just didn't sing at grounds at all ever before Liverpool fans 'invented' it. Chants of some sort I'm sure but singing never. If reporters of the day were amazed at what the Kop was doing, you have to accept their word for it even if you don't accept the word of those of us old enough to remember the days before it started. As for the opera/show version being a different song judge for yourself. this from 1956 -
Threads full of fools. Most have a reference to Klopp in their username though. ------------------ Nina Simone released YNWA in 1958, no vocals though.
It's because Utd fans are petty squablers with nothing better to do than try and take credit for the song..
Lots of people have sung it and released it. Its a very popular and enduring song. My wife (yank) even recognised the song "from Carousel" when Liverpool started singing it on first game she saw me watch when dating. Personally, I think its a great song, "if I loved you" is probably a better song from that musical (also remade by dozens of people and famous to today)... "If I loved you" would make a terrible club song though.
We don't want credit for it. Its fecking ****e man. It's just another thing we got to first, that you followed. Like existing Own stadium (when will you get yours Europe European cup 20 league titles Champions cup winners 2014 Along with many more.
