I watched a documentary made by John de Lancie (Q from Star Trek TNG) about Bronys. He voices a character on My Little Pony and regularly does the comicon circuit for both shows. He, in his anarchic and cheeky fashion, decided to ask several Bronys about their errmmmmm fascination for a small girl's cartoon.

    Explanation video:

This vid is quite intellectual and also a bit defensive, but you'll get the gist.

OK I took a liberty and changed a C to a K for comic effect.

...exactly, mid table most years and lucky to survive relegation in other years. I even remember us struggling to survive in the old second division during the '80s.

I started supporting Chelsea 1975, when every ****er was supporting Liverpool, my god we were up and down like Jordan's knickers. When we reached the FA Cup final and got spanked by Utd. or watching my class mate Frank Sinclair stepping out for Chelsea for the first time. I was there when we were **** , I was there when I almost got the **** kicked out of me by my brother when we beat Liverpool in the Cup two years running. I've been there when Chelsea have been truly truly ****e, so I aren't flapping my tits in the wind over a bad 8 games! I've seen us relegated!

I was about 6 the last time we got relegated, so don't really remember all that much, except my dad being depressed as hell.
Remember bawling like a bitch in the 94 cup final though when United spanked us.
Also remember how awesome it was in the 97 cup final, as it was the first time I had ever seen us win a piece of silverware......was only 14 but it was one of the first times my dad let me try a beer :) (May have even been the first, I don't recall).

Back in those days, Pre-Gullitt, the first few years of the PL, we were regularly finishing 12th, 10th, 9th, 14th every season, so am more than used to mediocrity from my Blues! :)
Still, seeing us win the Champions League will always be one of the happiest memories of my life :p

    Ditto mate. First game 76.

Home and away through 80s and early 90s.

We are very lucky to enjoy a golden era at Chelsea atm

Yes. 94 was ****e day. Pissed down with rain. Only fun bit was United bottling their lap of honour because so much stuff was raining down on them from our end

The best bit of that run , when Torres ran from half way like to put Barca out, I was in ****ing tears!, refused to watch the final as every time I watched the game , it was bad luck for Chelsea! I blame myself for JT's slip to this dayin the CL final against Man U!

Shouldn't this stuff be in the Chelsea Cedentials thread?

In the 94 final you were actually the better team until we scored. I think you did the 1-0 league double over us that season.

Went on my air miles to Moscow and roomed with a United mate in a United hotel and flew back from the 'United' airport. Tbh their fans were all good about it, apart from my pal waking me at 8am to find out if I had any nose bag left

Speaking of that midget team, I met Mark Steins sister a few weeks ago in Bournemouth.
She was staying at the same hotel as me, she was awesome, we had a long chat about him and Chelsea and how he feels about the current Chelsea team etc, and how he is slightly bitter that footballers got paid a fraction then of what they do now.

Oh and he is a physio now, apparantly.

Yeah to think that when he played, his skill would have pissed on the crop of the current shower that play in the prem, when idiots like Robbie savage are earning big money, I would be bitter.

....indeed, we almost dropped into the third tier of English football but survived the drop. This club has thus only ever played in the top two tiers of English football - no other club in the land can boast that record. :emoticon-0103-cool:

We certainly cut that season fine alright Bristol....we were truly awful that year ! Luckily there were a few even worse than us !!! I remember on an old B.B.C. documentery about Chelsea, Ken Bates, talking about travelling up to the Bolton match and watching car after car with Chelsea scarves hanging out the windows. He actually had to stop talking on the video for a few seconds as he got quite teary-eyed. Ah yes, the good !!! old days.
