Wow! That was some of the best defensive work I've seen in a while from the Aussies there, 13 men and they held out brilliantly. Tournament is starting to hot up nicely now you can sense.

Well according to one of the commentators, alot of people were calling this game a 'dead rubber'.

And he couldn't believe the effort both teams were putting into it, given they were both through.

What bullshit. but fair play to the aussies. They were brilliant. especially with 13 against 15.

Australia +7, never in doubt lol What defence. They showed their attacking prowess against England, tonight we saw the defence. They'll give the All Blacks plenty to think about but I'd still fancy the All Blacks.

Big one tomorrow, mon Ireland! Ireland -2 you say. Yes sir, yes please :)

Yep just as I thought! <laugh>
2 fantastic games today. Does Dallaglio mentor the Aussie skipper? His unstinting effort to help out the ref was very reminiscent of our Lol.

Well when I say I fancy us I mean to beat the 2pt handicap, it's basically backing us to win the game. I thought they'd put it around 6/7pts which would have cooled my interest. We're the best northern hemisphere side in this, and we'll beat the French.

Uruguay at +62 Even money with Betvictor looks a great bet tonight.

Anyways the games up in Manchester tonight, which should please Bayern Kenny who thought it was a conspiracy that all our games where at Twickenham.

Australia looked good again earlier, i think they'll take some stopping in the QF and Semi's. Wales I think will be out next round

Luckily for me England brought on the **** kicker with 20 mins to go, as the 62 points may have been under pressure otherwise. But thankfully the Uruguayans hung on to only lose by 57

Am I the only one that thinks that, after England won the World Cup on Australia’s patch, the Wallabies are here to return the favour? Surely all that is standing in their way is the All Blacks and injuries.

It amused me listening to Radio 5 Live in the car at lunchtime to hear that those Toffs and Public School Boys who had paid rip off prices for tickets for the England v Uruguay match before the tournament had started were complaining about the price of the tickets because they were watching a dead rubber between two teams who have nothing to play for but pride. They could have put their tickets on Ebay, but I do not think that there were enough travelling Uruguayan supporters that they would have covered their postage.

I was thinking that QM, the tickets where probably very expensive. I know at Twickenham for the Fiji game the prices where £330 for the cheapest ones. So I'd imagine they paid a fair wack for them tonight, in what essentially turned out to be a friendly. Thats what you call poor value for your money

If last night's Wales v Australia game was a must win situation for both sides, tonight's Ireland v France is even more so. The last thing either of these sides wants is a next round scrap with the All Blacks. Of late, Ireland have had the wood on France, winning two of their last four games, but as the other two were drawn, and France has a solid World Cup history, this game for mine is a flip of the coin job. France have been talking themselves up for this and will be desperate to get their big boppers rolling forward. With Ireland struggling against Italy, there is a chance that they may have begun to stagger. France on the other hand seem to be hitting their straps. I'm hoping though that Ireland will be more at home at Cardiff and get the job done like all good favourites should.

Best Northern Hemisphere side in it, that was never a contest. The French beaten like red headed children.

    Ireland -2 lol

Onwards and upwards, shame the captains going to (reportedly) miss the rest of the tournament though.

Epic stuff!I just hope Sexton will be fit for the rest of the tournament. Losing POC is a blow but Henderson is a class act.Hope O'Mahony is ok as well, best game ever in an Irish shirt. I think a semi final with Australia beckons!

Beating a dire French team, and the rest of an easy group, doesn't make Ireland the best Northern Hemisphere side no contest.

We have beaten Ireland the last 2 times we've played you, so you aren't as imperious as you like to think.

And you guys getting out of an easy group, and us losing out in a hard group doesn't change that

You only beat us narrowly on points difference last time, after we beat you in the head to head match.

There isn't a lot between England Wales and Ireland. It certainly isn't a no contest as you put it. If England or Wales had swapped places with Ireland, they'd of dominated the French and the rest of the group you where in.

The next round is where it will get interesting for you, Argentina are not to be underestimated. luckily you'll have 95% of the crowd pulling for you again.

Have to say your support was great and the French support was awful considering how close they are, you must have outnumbered them like 10 to 1:biggrin:
