Haha this is absolutely spot on, couldn't have said it better myself. Its a awful program, poor story, undeveloped characters and some terrible acting.

Auf Weidersehen Pet voted the best ITV series over the last 60 years, as relevant today as it was in the 80's.

Getting into this at the moment but must admit having so much subtitles is annoying and will probably stop me watching. Don't mind a bit of subtitles but it's most the program.

Just watched episode 2 of The Bridge Season 3.. enjoying it. Imagine will be on BBC early 2016.

I also like Scandi crime, but one thing that is odd/funny, is that Denmark has a relatively small pool of tv actors, so the same actors are in most of their series, so if you watch a few different series close together, have to adjust to the same person playing different roles ie. a multinational company director is a homeless drug addict in the next crime series released.

Norskov is showing at the moment which is good and along similar lines, which I imagine you'll get in the UK soon.

I enjoyed the Swedish drama Jordskott, even if it was a little weird.

Found it odd watching Rolf Lassgard in Sebastian Bergmann after watching him in Wallander as youmcouldn't help thinking he had changed his attitudes and then rememberingn it wass a different character.
surprised more people didn't mention Lilyhammer, one of my favourites of recent years. Its digs st right on, PC types in Norway and the clash in cultures was hilarious. Great bit ofvacting on a par with Walter Matthau at his grumpiest.

I miss Shameless. It kinda lost its way a little bit though with a lot of the Gallagher family leaving over the years - at one point only Frank was left. Haven't bothered with the US version.

US versions of British shows never work. The Office and House of Cards being the exceptions.

Just look up what they did to Life on Mars.

So they sometimes work, not never.

They have messed up numerous times. Their versions of Steptoe and Son and Til Death Us Do Part and others cut out what we found funny for fear of causing offence although that one was successful.
Producers of their version of Fawlty Towers suggested getting rid of the guy who shouts a lot and is unpleasant to Manuel and building up the part of the wife. The mind boggles at such thought processes and the lack of understanding of the dynamics of the show. And these people get paid a fortune.
Absolutely Fabulous was another. The Americans said they couldn't have characters smoking and drinking. Also they wanted Edna to be friends with her daughter and nice to her mother. Jennifer Saunders said she ended up just accepting the money and letting them get on with it.

Davison, my bad. Good in "All Creatures ...", though, but still a mediocre Doctor. Are you McCoy's mentor from Gallifrey? Sorry, but you must be alone in the universe if you really believe he was even close to OK. Are you The Master in disguise? For the record, I've probably missed no more than about three episodes (maybe none) since the very first one with William Hartnell. Absolutely brilliant series, with unbelievably accurate connectivity over the decades.
