Both Klopp and FSG have the under 24 policy. Klopp's consistently spoken about coaching players and developing a team too. I think the odd older player (the 24 to 28 year olds such as Lovren, Lallana, Milner, etc) will be better quality under Klopp though, there just won't be an abundance of them.
Ultimately - he has to buy better quality players. I cannot stand that policy. It leaves you down on experience and leadership. To me its a selling club policy. Buy young, sell in prime, FSG make money whilst Liverpool don't compete. Brilliant.
I don't mind the policy, I think it is sensible. However, the limit could be 26 or 27 rather then 24, that would still offer a potential return on the investment if we were to sell again. You should be able to tell how good a player will be by the time they are 24 though. There are players out there, we got Suarez, Coutinho, Studge, Sakho, Hendo, etc with all but Suarez well under that age limit.
We did have the policy but it's been relaxed since - we've signed Lovren, Lallana, Lambert, Milner. I don't think it's as strict as it once was but it's a good policy IMO. We should be signing more 22-24 year olds though because this is the age where quality players are really good but a couple of years of development (at LFC) and they can reach the next level.
And at the end of the day, we will always be a selling club. We will develop players and they will move on for big money. Even if we won titles and CL, players will have their heads turned by Barca, Real and Bayern. But this isn't just a problem for LFC - every team bar the 3 mentioned above will suffer from losing their stars. However, what we don't want to do is lose our stars to our direct rivals.
New Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp wants to bring his former Borussia Dortmund forward Robert Lewandowski to Anfield. Klopp will move for the 27-year-old if Bayern Munich consider selling. (Sunday Mirror) It is the Mirror though!!
Yeah, bit like utd having 3 Scottish managers and one of them won **** all, a managers nationality doesn't determine his quality.
He's already spoken a it giving tough a chance and door is open for anyone no matter how experienced now. His biggest satisfaction is taking a youth player / player from low club and turning them into a great player.
Ridiculous rumour. As if he would take a cut in quality and pay to be reunited with a manager who he left without any hesitation. I can't see him poaching any former players at Dortmund given his relationship with them. It be like when Rafa went to Inter and trying to sign all our players. There's just a respect that you wouldn't want to break.
One of your previous managers is very "worried" about the prospect of Klopp bringing success to Liverpool. Yet the vast majority of his former club's followers(espicially on not606)think they know more about the game than him.
Klopp helped make Lewandowski the player he is, I don't think it was without any hesitation, but if Bayern were to get rid (and don't see why they would as he's 27 and in the form of his life) he's cost 50m and every top club in the world would be after him
He's the ultimate mind game merchant and he always has the livpl massive in the palm of his hand Dont forget this is the guy who said Charlie Adams corners were worth 15m a pop... a week or so before you then forked out the full amount to buy him.
