Ferriby won 2-1, they had Josh Maguire sent off for handling on the line, but saved the resulting penalty. Assume Josh is Harry Maguire's brother, as he was there watching, along with 530 others. All courtesy of Rick.
Apologies. The way I read it was as a list: Ferriby won 2-1, they had Maguire sent off and they saved the penalty.
Hall Road Rangers sank to yet another defeat in the NCEL Premier as they travelled away to Winterton on Saturday.(2-0)
Well I automatically assumed OLM would associate himself with Ferriby, with them being a local team. So "they" was obviously going to mean the other team. Unless he has some odd association with Nuneaton Town.
This is becoming bigger and bigger each year. It's good to give the non-league sides a little boost. It should be encouraged for fans to go to a game every international break. Would be nice to see some TV companies get behind it. Maybe televise a random match here and there - give it some special treatment and, with it, a bit of cash. Which reminds me of an advert Sky had a few years ago when they "presented" a live kick about on the field. Richard Keys was sat in somebody's living room presenting, Andy Gray and Martin Tyler commented from on top of the bus stop and Geoff Shreeves interviewed the star player afterwards from inside the bus stop.
Hull United played at Emley today. Quite a big crowd there but I forgot about this non league day thing so dunno if it was down to that.
For anyone not going to Wednesday, Ferriby play FC United of Manchester next weekend, should be a decent turn-out.
It was a very happy non league day at my local non league club Bognor Regis Town. Went through to 4th Qual round of FA Cup beating Oxford City 4-2 when 2-1 down with only a few minutes to go. Oxford were 2nd in the National North having only lost one game this season. That's the second Nat North side weve beaten in this cup this season. Hopefully a good home draw on Monday.
