South Shields beat Ryton & Crawcrook 4 -0 today in front of a crowd of 1,045 (including me, of course) which is blinking brilliant :emoticon-0100-smile

'Sheels weren't fantastic, but they are looking like a good team now (and since a rather famous Argentinian arrived a few weeks ago) :emoticon-0105-wink:

It was comfortable at 2-0 with about five minutes to go, then The Mariners scored 2 in less than a minute to complete a fairer reflection on the game :emoticon-0148-yes:

The first of these two was an exquisite curler into the top left hand corner by the Man of the Match, who, unsurprisingly, is 'a cut above' the rest at this level, and we were well pleased :emoticon-0142-happy . . . . so much so that the whole, so it seemed, of the stand that we were in started singing Hooliooooooo's song, 'cos he must really be :emoticon-0159-music indestructable and he must always believe it :emoticon-0159-music

    What a fantastic goal, Hooliooooooo . . . . thank you <party>

I apologise if this is of no interest to some, but I thought that it would be interesting to the vast majority :emoticon-0105-wink:

I grew up in Crawcrook! Ryton quite a bit bigger so I'd have thought a joint team was basically just Ryton. Used to play for Ryton Cricket team youth. I was ****e like. This was of interest to me.

He has been playing in the middle, as we'd expect, and he just strolls through these games (not in a lazy way) :emoticon-0100-smile
This win was more remarkable because 'Sheels beat two teams at the same time . . . . Ryton and Crawcrook <whistle>

Hoolios exploits are of interest to all Sunderland fans - one the most grounded skillful talented players we 've had - also real gent off the pitch - a living legend

Absolutely this. Obviously someone who just loves playing football. SirvAlex said he was the most exciting premiership signing when he came to safc! Loved watching him play and wish I had time to go to more amateur footy so I could watch him now

An acknowleged Mackem legend - Shearer was a legend for his goalscoring exploits - Hoolios for footballing ability attitude and community link - both legendary but not for same qualities
