Best TV show of all time. Went to the 30th anniversary in Newcastle in 2013 and the Nottinghamshire fan weekend with Big Baz and Stan Hey last year! AWP Geek!
The best TV show of the last 15 years: (BTW this trailer offers you almost nothing of what it's all about) Heh.
Yes! Brilliant show but unfortunately cost too much to produce and they couldn't find sponsors for another season. The Aussie series "The Code" was also very good but have you had "Glitch" yet - second series started production here. Fargo was outstanding - next series starting here later this month. All the Wallender series were brilliant too. Did you guys get Lillyhammer? An incredible lead performance by Bruce Springsteen's band member Steven Van Zandt. Bruce Springsteen has agreed to play a part in series three. Part of the "Child-Bride" died when "The Bill' finished. (AND Heartbeat.) Da Vinci's inquest was another great show that just died in the arse leaving everyone in the air. Pity.
Other new Series I'm watching/recently watched that haven't been mentioned yet; Arrow Flash Blacklist Limitless Quantico Minority Report Dark Matter Continuum Best thing I've watched this year was probably Mr. Robot.
Love Homeland, series 1,2 and 4 were great, 3 not as good but still alright. Hope that bastard Haqqani gets it in series 5, Quinn will get him! Watched Dexter recently, its good up to series 4 but the last 4 go down hill. Wouldn't mind them bringing him back though if they can get a good plot.
I enjoyed the film (much as I dislike Cruise), is it a series based on that? I know there's a book also...
I didn't think there was a show of that either, but there is. It's a sequel to the film. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Minority_Report_(TV_series)
Doctor Who has also been really good, people don't seem keen on Capaldi but it's something different, it keeps the show fresh. Preferred John Simm to that bird from Green Wing though. The new series of Heroes is also enjoyable, although the kid that makes stuff vanish has a really annoying mouse face.
It's about the 3 kids they used for pre-cognition after pre-crime finished. One of them assists a police officer but he only has the visions of the murder in advance so they have to try and work it out in time. Its not brilliant and probably my least favourite on the list I posted but its only 3 episodes in so far. I far prefer Limitless which is a follow on from the film timeline. I can't help thinking its just yet another "clever consultant helps police solve crimes" story though, like Elementary, like Minority report. Off my list, I'd see Blacklist and Mr. Robot as essential viewing. The rest are just enertaining viewing.
The only bad Doctor was Sylvester McCoy. Peter Davidson was mediocre, but all the rest have been excellent. Capaldi has been given a few laugh lines. In last week's (US) episode (not verbatim): "I haven't felt like this since I met Shirley Bassey" and "You should all now be a bit cleverer, through osmosis from being close to me." Made me laugh anyway.
I can't look at Capaldi as anyone other than Malcolm Tucker. That would be a superb crossover though. Not one for the kids, like.
I don't watch hardly any TV as I think 90% of it is utter ****e, and I don't have the personal resources to invest the time* required in these mega long serials. Having said that, the missus has been collecting all the Law & Order DVDs recently. Caught a few episodes when she's had it on and greatly enjoyed it. *got a life innit.
Wash your mouth out with soap, that man! McCoy was a fine, fine Doctor. Up there with the best. JNT decided he wanted only new writers for McCoy's tenure. So, he had a few dodgy stories to contend with. Also, a lot of the editing of the 7th Doctor's era is incomprensible (The Curse of Fenric and espcially the should-have-been-glorious mess that was Ghost Light spring to mind). Okay, fair enough, Mccoy's performance in Dragonfire is laughable (trying to skid about to make the polystyrene look like snow. But Hey-ho (snow). But he was ruddy good. A shame we didn't get to see his final season, season 27. Anyway, 'New/Nu Who' has gotten worse by the season for me. Capaldi is a poor, poor Doctor. Moffat's tenure has been another incomprehensible mess and I long for a return to RTD's style. And you know how many people on Gallifrey Base will be pissed that yet another fan has spelled the 5th Doctor's real name wrong???
I was channel hopping last night and watched a bit of Dr Who (mainly just because I'd seen it was losing viewers) and Capaldi is indeed a **** Doctor. Davidson was worse. Baker was the best.
