    Interesting article in The Mercury

    http://m.leicestermercury.co.uk/m-sure-Vardy-England/story-27924972-detail/story.html

He is ripping it up, and it is a step to far. He's that player that unless you play to his strengths and use him on the merits with which he has earned his call up, he is isn't useful. Shove him out wide against a teaM that throws
11 behind the ball and expect him to be Glenn Hoddle is ridiculous. Let him run free and be Jamie Vardy and he is worth his place. Sadly players that get their 'chance' get it in the wrong position or get 1 chance and are gone. England have all the makings of a counter attacking team but don't use that and sadly Vardy will go down as that guy that got a few caps, when he could, if used right be so much more effective, especially at international level, have been so much more. You don't have to be world class to be good at international football, you have to pick a team that uses players that suit you beat

    Drunken rant over

He's fantastic in a team that plays fast, counter attacking football, based on a hard work ethic.

Stick him on the wing for a team that tries to play a possession-based game, against teams set up to sit behind the ball, and he won't be much use...

But that's how most will judge him, unfortunately.

England is picked to suit the big players at the big clubs rather than form as we all know so I'd be amazed if Vardy is given such a chance. Still with his injuries I'd be happy for him to rest and not play!

Apparently Rooney and Ings have knocks and might not play one or both the games.

Kane and Vardy seems like it could be a very good partnership to me...

    We have qualified already.

No doubt if we needed wins, these knocks wouldn't have appeared...

Having 'a knock'... You may as well just be honest and say you can't be bothered <laugh>

... in fairness, Ings is often injured ... Rooney likely to have picked up a Lycra originated strain from Weight Watchers... :)

Even though Rooney and Ings are out, i still think Roy would put in Kane as a lone striker ... i mean he totally deserves it scoring once this season!!

Like Jack said, they won't play Vardys game, you saw it against San Marino, no quick countering, no urgency, the system will be his undoing.

... no point starting Milner ... he'd only be floating every ball to Rooney sitting with the non-participating squad members <laugh>

    Oh yeah <laugh>

Doubt it'll happen again as Vardy is on the bench and will probably come on with 10 min remaining if at all.

Shouldn't really wish this on an England player but hope Walcott has a shocker so we see Vardy sooner

Dull, negative and toothless is how I'd describe England. How Vardy hasn't come on is beyond me, if he gets on he'll have no time to do anything and will get critised!!

Funny how he does more than most of the side in 5 minutes! Take note Woy and play him ahead of the stupid children with large egos!

Can´t see why England can´t play him in the last game ? England are through ffs, treat it like a friendly & give others a chance.

Well done though in your 7 mins JV :emoticon-0148-yes:

Games where England dominate and have so much possession are not suitable for Vardy's game. The build-up is so slow that they allow teams to get back and defend in numbers which means they get bogged down playing little flicks and one-twos just outside the area and trying to thread little passes through 8 defenders and inevitably losing possession. That isn't Vardy's game. He is more suited to a counter attacking game where the opposition have pushed up high and lose possession; then we can launch the ball up to him to take on the last defenders.

Ironically he is more likely to fare best against the better teams such as France and Spain who will probably dominate possession, but we can be fairly sure that Woy will then revert back to his old guard with the fat boy up front and the opposition defence having a relaxed and stress free match.
