I think people are jumping to the conclusion this is all about N'Zogbia holding out for more money when in fact, he may have already told DW where he wants to go and it doesn’t look like its either Noocarsel or Villa.

Perhaps we shouldn’t judge the player but question Whelan’s motives in all this. He knows N'Zog is going but is desperately trying to get a bidding war going which simply isn’t going to happen. We can sign him for peanuts in January or sign a pre contract with him for nothing to join us next season or Whelan can just concede defeat and let the player come to us. It is obvious to me that Sunderland is his preferred option and despite some reporting to the contrary, it always has been from the very start.

Villa may well offer 10m and 55k per week but if the player doesn’t want to go there, Whelan can’t force him. It’s a bit of stalemate and eye staring at the minute. I can imagine that we have made our position clear to Wigan and N'Zogbia and it’s probably why we seem very relaxed about it all at the minute.

The longer this goes on, the stronger our hand becomes. We may well get the lad for well below the 10m touted and for wages that are in line with our overall policy.

Don’t shoot N'Zogbia and label him as greedy but look more at how honorary Whelan can be when he gets a bee in his bonnet.

Patience is a virtue on this one IMO.

    Whelan "honorary", Cest? Surely "'Ornery"...?

I think we'd forget about the waiting if he did sign, but right now it's dragging on too long!

I for one am now at the point that I just do not want him to sign for us. If he does we will be getting the other end ofthis next year, as he starts to look for another move to a bigger club.

He is trouble, yes a good player but not worth the hassel he will cause in the club.

Hope Villa get him and he ruins the dressing room and they and Bent go down!

I don't agree with this mate. I'm more inclined to agree with Cest's take on this.

I think the longer it goes on the more likely he'll come to us. Infact I'm more confident now he will be a Sunderland player than I ever have been

How is he trouble? Seems to have done ok with Wigan for 2 seasons now. I also agree with Cest RE Whealan is the man behind all the uncertainty etc, people are judging the player on media rumours, just calm down and see how it pans out.

Half the people calling him a "greedy bastard" etc, I bet they will be the first ones saying how mint he is if he signs.

You wanna bet on that mate, iv'e made my mind up. He ain't coming, and if by some miracle he did end up signing, i wish him well as on a day he can be good, but that was meant to be the same with Muntari and Sess. One proved me right and one very wrong.
