I think that's rather good. I read that as that the ref has been so appalled at the player for some foul or behaviour that he showed what he could do to him if he didn't mend his ways. The player appeared to learn this lesson really quickly. He was almost dropping to his knees in thanks.
Looking forward to the Northern Ireland game - come on Stevie Davis - another rocket to put NI through!
No. No. No. Let him have a great game and a great victory, but for the love of some greater being, don't let him use up a precious goal for someone else. Please?
http://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/610399/Incredible-list-agents-fees-transfer-window Worth a general discussion?
Agents provide a service to players by finding them clubs, but also generally bottle feeding them...if players didn't think they earned their corn, they wouldn't use them. Some players may be able to do it for themselves, but most know nothing about contracts apart from that they have dotted lines at the bottom. Of course clubs don't like them, they would rather deal with footballers who are well known for their high IQ. Remember that this money isn't put under a mattress....it is all part of the economy....taxes are paid (hopefully in this country) and people are employed (who buy houses, cars, food etc). Not all agents are pirates...it's a job...their clients are well paid and so are they if successful. May seem I'm acting as a devil's advocate, but most agents do a good job for their clients....every business has rogues.
I know little about the work of the agents, but they get a lot of criticism for unsettling their clients and trying to force moves that are lucrative for themselves rather than the players or the Clubs. The Vic crisis seemed to stem from the agents work rather than Vic himself, difficult to prove without any real evidence.
A Spanish court rejects the prosecutors request to drop tax fraud charges against Messi so he will be tried. Lawyers for the tax authorities want 22 month prison sentences for Messi and his father.
Seeing as this is the general football thread, I just have to say football is ****, I hate it. International, women's, men's it's all ****.
Anyone with an Xbox One can get a free Sky Sports week pass. Just use the code xboxweek on nowtv. You can activate it next time Saints are on
Barcelona are considering a surprise move for Feyenoord's former Liverpool forward Dirk Kuyt, 35 Wonder if their fans will be as annoyed as we were with that rumour!
I always liked Kuyt, good player, in his prime was just like a better Shane Long really. As for Messi, agree with beef we all know he'll get away with it, money talks...
Decent enough article and as you scroll through it the last photo will bring a smile to your face... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34478181
http://www.soka25east.com/victor-wa...-getting-a-long-term-contract-at-southampton/ Wanyama talks to an African newspaper after Kenya's recent win in the qualifiers: says he's settled back in Southampton after becoming distracted with talk of a move. Happy about recent win against Chelsea. When asked about a new contract says he doesn't sign till his agent says he should. Whether that suggests there is truth in our offering him a long term deal, I have no idea.
Couple of things - the papers saying Manure are after Mane and Chelsea sign a new keeper - I thought no-one could sign until the transfer window opens? Or does that not apply to "big clubs"?
I think you can sign free agents....if you couldn't, it would be tough on unemployed footballers. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/footb...lsea-confirm-signing-goalkeeper-marco-6598394
