What worries me is it sounds like the xfer committee still lives.

Klopp said no player will be signed without his approval and no player will be sold without his approval. That's a far cry from having control of xfers.

Rodgers could pick who he signed as long as committee shortlisted it. How is Klopp going to handle "You can sign Eto'o or Balotelli" moments?

Then the player won't be signed - we wait until there are better players available. Or we sign one of those players and instead of whinging, Klopp will try to improve them and develop them.

and over I go

You'll find them all in the thread called "Klopp sack watch" (created before he was our manager)

They're the ones whinging that we're too [HASHTAG]#obsessed[/HASHTAG] about LFC <ok>

A lot better than Brod?

Going back to that scenario with Rodgers though:

Sturridge injured. Committee says Balotelli or Eto'o. Someone is better than no one right?

Having final say on transfer is not going to be good if he has to pick "final say" between a 50 year old man or a Mario. Hopefully Klopp can bully the committee into not ending up with that choice.

Brodge was too nice and not forceful enough to get stuck in that position. Hopefully Klopp will würstwack anyone who tries to force him in that corner...

... All said though, I bet Klopp would have got more out of Mario than Rodgers did.

You're missing the fact that he would have selected the two to choose from in the first place. He selects, they all have a chat about the candidates over a cup of tea and a kit-kat and he decides from those left which he wants.

I hear what you're saying and you're right - it wasn't a great choice of targets, and committee could have done better.

But they have found some really good players IMO and we now have a manager who can develop them and make them better. We have a manager who is a better judge of talent so I think the targets we now see will be of a better quality - Rodgers signed Firmino on the basis that Benteke would be - Firmino! A player who has been in top class form over past 24 months and just called up to national team!

Committee aren't that bad IMO - plenty of room for improvement but I think we will start judging them from now on because they will have a a manager who will actually work with them. If there are no improvements after 1-2 years, then replace them.

I also like the way he said we were a challenge. That's what I wanted a big name manager to see us as but none of them has had the balls to take us on, until now.
