Are we living in the age of the great TV show? in the last 10-15years we have been inundated with really good TV, more so in the last 5 years:

    Walking Dead
    Game of Thrones
    Fargo
    Boardwalk Empire
    The Wire
    Sopranos
    Narcos
    Fear the Walking Dead
    Breaking Bad
    Better Call Saul
    Peaky Blinders

    Theres too many to list!!!

I find that most TV drama is a load of crap, although my wife would agree with you. I appreciate that it is all down to taste and personal choice, headphones on and music for me.

You forgot This Is England (all of them, I consider them all one series really).

Apart from TWD ones, I agree completely. I'd also add Mad Men, True Detective, Hannibal and Daredevil.

Only just started watching Narcos, but it seems pretty good.

BTW, prepare for BCC telling you how overrated Breaking Bad is.

If we're going back 10-15 years, I'd also include The Sopranos and Band of Brothers.

Band of Brothers is still my favourite show ever.

My favourite TV shows of the past 10-15 years:

    Life on Mars
    Game of Thrones
    Fargo
    Boardwalk Empire
    The Wire
    The Sopranos
    True Detective
    Hannibal
    Breaking Bad
    Sherlock
    Peaky Blinders
    Band of Brothers
    This Is England '86, '88, '90
    House of Cards
    Mad Men
    Futurama
    South Park

I would say the Simpsons, but that hasn't been funny since the 90s.

I wish I liked stuff like Breaking Bad, I just don't get it. I've watched a fee of these shows because of all the hype, then when I mention that I watched 3 episodes and was bored to death people say you just need to watch a bit further and it gets good. But if that's the case, how are people sitting through several episodes of nothing in order to find out that it eventually gets good? How are they so popular? I really want to understand and join in the hype but I really don't get it.

I'm not just talking about BB, but all these shows people go mental for.

Sounds exciting. When I think of all the time I wasted in pubs and clubs when I could have been watching TV with a group of friends.
Do they come to your place or do you go to theirs? Do you have a great night in or a great night out?

A good selection there, SWF. Which version of Wallander do you prefer?

I'm going to do you all a MASSIVE favour and advise you all watch The Shield.

Hands down, the greatest TV show I've ever seen.

If you haven't already seen it, I cannot recommend it enough to you's.

It was one of the few (perhaps only) TV show I've seen that has a good ending... It literally brought a tear to my eye!

I hardly watch any TV at all, but if I had to pick my favourite TV series' of the 21st century.....

    Game of Thrones
    Waking the Dead
    Ashes to Ashes
    Life on Mars
    Silent Witness

Sure there are others but really can't think off the top of my head.

The Branagh one would have been better if you hadn't seen seen the Krister Henriksson one first. Also enjoyed the Rolf Lassgard version. Lassgard was also very good in a series called Sebastian Bergmann.
Must admit I have a bit of a penchant for Scandinavian crime programmes. Quite enjoying Beck on BBC2 on a Saturday evening at the moment.
