This question has bothered me for a bit. I would like my defenders to collect the odd yellow card, at least it shows they are tackling. Colocinni only picked up 3 yellows last season which does not seem many for a centre half who is also our Captain. He is supposed to lead by example, show guts and determination. He should get the odd booking dont you think?

I wish Coloccini would pick up a red card just to get him out of the team.

Actually, it would be great for him to go Cantona style kung fu mental and get banned for the rest of the season!!

Its not a necessity for me. Sometimes yes they will have to take one for the team. Generally though you'd hope they are of good enough quality to just do the job right. That is where our problem lies. There are occasions when you face certain players where a big tackle early is a must. Defoe is like that. If you lift him early he'll go and hide on the wing. A bit of a pussy basically. I remember Titus hoofing him 6ft up fairly when he was at Spurs, he just didn't want to know. He'll always be a threat against us now, because they don't get into him. Let him play, especially coming from deeper positions and he is a good player.

I would like to think the lack of cards illustrates excellent timing and positioning a la Bobby Moore. Apparently the only time he got his timing wrong was in that Jewellers shop in Bogota.
However with centre halves their timing is that bad they dont even get the player.

The only time that Coloccini ever got his timing right was when he was banging that young lass from Cramlington. Well, until he got caught that is....

You've got to get close to an attacker to foul them, hence a lack of cards. Q.E.D.

To be fair how bookings were players like Colback getting? Kinda suggests the fouls were coming in before the opposition got to Coloccini.

Think more importantly the question should be more along the lines of "Do you expect fans of NUFC to give players and staff at the club a chance before slating them?"

I noticed how this afternoon plenty were saying Krul was crap and now their saying we're going down because he's apparently out for the season.

Great, so he can be thrown into the lions den and when he doesn't play like a worldie he will be slaughtered and then tossed to the side!

Exactly. He is a massive potential. We should have left him at Crawley. This could be let another cock up.

Hopefully, the club ignore the fans for once if they do slaughter him!
