the beerios hit me more so what we reckon this season now king klopps in charge? cup and top 4 would be the top "realistic" aim i suppose. But just top four would be rescue job (part one) done
Haven't been this excited about any acquisition since Torres, probably. For me though, time is key. Klopp is very much everyone's first choice and the there's not one LFC who's not happy, but it's important to not create an unbearable weight on Klopp's shoulders right from the off. I firmly believe we'll go places under him, but the reality is he'll need time to get across his ideas and his ways of working, for me anything that we get from this season is now a bonus, and no matter what happens, Klopp will firmly have my backing going in to next season.
New Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been talking to the club's TV station in a "world-exclusive interview". “Firstly, I would like to offer thanks to the ownership of Liverpool Football Club for showing faith in me and my staff and presenting us with this wonderful opportunity. They have presented to me a very clear vision and I share their ambitions and model of work. “I am very excited by the challenge we face and eager to start the job and begin implementing our ideas and ways of working with this team. This is a talented group of players and there is still much to compete for this season. “Winning is important but so is how you win and how you play the game. I believe in a playing philosophy that is very emotional, very fast and very strong. My teams must play at full throttle and take it to the limit every single game. “It is important to have a playing philosophy that reflects your own mentality, reflects the club and gives you a clear direction to follow. Tactical of course, but tactical with a big heart. “Liverpool has extraordinary supporters and Anfield is a world renowned home, with an incredible atmosphere. I want to build a great relationship with these supporters and give them memories to cherish. I hope we can feed off each other's energy and that we take this journey together.” "I feel great. Today was a crazy day. It is absolutely a great feeling for me and a great honour to be there. It is one of the best moments of my life. It feels like a dream. "All I heard and read and felt when I saw matches with Liverpool. I love football and the intensity of football in Liverpool is very, very good for me. I always thought about England and working here because of the style of football and Liverpool was first choice." I am pretty excited. I want to see it, feel it, smell it. When I came here with Dortmund a year ago I was excited because of the history. This is the most special place. The most historical place. "We have to entertain the fans. To make their lives better. Football is not so important. We don't save lives or anything so it is out job to make them forget about their lives for 90 minutes." "I was never a guy for an easy way. This is the most interesting job in world football. When I read the papers they said it was a disaster - 12 points. But we are six points away [from the top]. We need to think about what we can change. First I need to talk to the players to find a common way."
What does it mean to you to be here at Anfield? Jurgen - Ask me in 4 months time, my English is inadequate at this time
"First thing you need is a stable defense" "I am here because I believe in the potential of the team. In this moment we are not the best team in the world, but who cares? We want to be the best team in the world in the future. There are problems, you need to solve them. We have good defnders, strikers and midfielders. First game is Tottenham. We need to make a team for this game. I want these guys." On what style of football he will bring: "A wild one. In these days in football. All the world class teams play possession football. I like to watch this. But nobody starts as a ball possession team. The first thing is always to have a stable defence. You can only stay confident when you know each offensive move from the opposition is a goal. Lets try to be the hardest team in the world to beat."
"Nobody will sell a player I want and nobody will buy a player I don't say yes too. I don't need more".
You know what I like most about that interview? There's no bullshit. Nothing about three year plans, transition etc. just an assessment of where we are right now, acknowledging the teams potential rather than lack of, and highlighting our position in the league is not a disaster and can be improved on.
"I am not here to say that against Tottenham we will see the all new LFC. But I hope there will be a little bit of the new LFC. That would be cool. These things take time." "It is no problem. We have spoken about it and it is nothing. If smart and intelligent guys sit together and they want the same, where is the problem? I don't want to spend money we don't have. Nobody wants to transfer a player without a yes from me."
