There was somebody doing the rounds advertising their Hull City Facebook group as "over 800 active members" or whatever **** it said. Saw him advertise on here, some other forums, nearly every post on the Hull City Facebook page and on the Hull City International fans group. Their group looked like one of those "you're not allowed to disagree with us otherwise you'll be banned" type groups. Lack of variety and not particularly active. Just seemed to be somebody attempting to steal members from anywhere they could.
Hard to be accepted as a new poster on the other forums. Hard to discuss anything as the cliques on those forums control everything. Yes we have cliques on here, but as there is in general more posters it doesn't matter. This feels more like a representation of our fan base tbh. Old, new, funny, ****y, bitter and twisted, young, OAPs, super fans, normal fans, occasional fans, protesters and supporters. In fact, this is a good time for this...
That's a perfect description of what CI turned into; a grim council estate pub with a grubby Cross of St George hung outside, and a small gang of bitter old men in tracksuits drinking Fosters on tap inside.
I have been on CI for ten or more years off and on . Although I did read it regularly I did not post often as the boys did not take to my female charm , although one or two could be gentlemen . What I liked was the funny replies , black humour and the never say die attitude towards our team . Abuse was dished out to me but I gave as good as I could get . For whatever reason people have drifted away , some may even have given up on City .I honestly Miss the CI of 3 plus years back .
It had started to decline before he disappeared , but he was one of the board's star contributors and his departure did not help matters .
The man is supposed to be 6 ft. tall so not a midget . Okay he was a sexist , homophobic , racist bigot , but was funny at times and was a big supporter of City .
Young super fan obvz. ****y chops. Oh that's alright then... CI became a parody of itself. Even online it smelled of bitterness, boiled cabbage and stale piss. Even the CMF manage to continue to live the dream the CI stalwarts can only reminisce over.
If that's the same one I was on a year ago or so, I left it, it was like an extension of a Blunderside phone in or imagine the match day thread on here on a bad day going on for ever.
From time to time I have a quick peek at Hull Citymad as it was the first forum I (and my wife) joined back in 2010. John F was on there recently. At least a dozen regular members of their forum moved over here for various reasons. Must admit the one we both miss is Ghurkin although he appears to have left ages ago.
