It's an interesting point though. Just to put some substance behind it. You know you're not supposed to start a sentence with And, Because, So, and various other connecting words and combinations.? Well how come that Dickens and Shakespeare both broke these so-called rules all the time.? The thing is, there's knowing that you supposedly shouldn't and still doing it because it works. Plenty of published authors down through the years have broken the grammatical rules and done so with great effect. There are times and places for the grammatical rules. If I'm writing to my bank manager or MP, or a scientific paper, I'll be as neat and tidy as you please. But certainly, in situations such as writing a blog, or an article, or bantering on a forum, I will write as if I am speaking the words. And when people speak [see back there?], they break the rules all the time. It just so happened that Bill and Charlie took that up with dramatic effect. So why not learn [did it again] from the masters.?
The most important thing is clarity...in general, good grammar helps with that. However, grammar is not set in stone....it has changed over the centuries. The thing that winds me up are those that feel they can dispense totally with full stops and commas and still be understood...you only need to look at twitter to see it in action. Many youngsters seem to feel that punctuation is tinsel to make a sentence look nice.
http://www.express.co.uk/sport/foot...mpton-Sadio-Mane-Transfer-News-Gossip-Chelsea ManU said to be even more interested in Mane. Please don't ask, Van Gaal, as a bullet through the brain often offends.
To be honest I reckon that Inanovic tackle did hurt, dead leg at least. Was that before or after Dusan had run rings around him in the corner?
This is one player that will attract a bidding war. If we get past Jan with him, I reckon we may well have one of the big Spanish clubs joining the interest. Nothing short of £30M at the moment for me, he is superb. (that's spurs & pool ruled out)
Ronaldo back to united and Madrid lay £50m for Sadio. We sign Gray from Birmingham for £5m, Katharina pockets £45m and the media declare a fire sale.
We held out in the summer....I am certain he will not go in January. Half way through the season for ****'s sake.
Blimey, that's just about the strongest response I've ever seen from you! I'm not saying he will go in Jan, but he is hot HOT property, and I see him getting better as we go along.
Wasn't aimed at you....just furious that the media are talking about Mane going in January. Blooming daft when you consider we made him stay in the summer. If we have a crap season, we will need him....if we have a good first half of the season, we will want to maintain momentum. Anyway what's wrong with for Fran's sake? What did you think it was?
Not sure we even MADE him stay. He was just happy to stay. I don't think it ever got taken seriously. I also think he'll stay for next season. When he has a year left on his contract then he'll probably move on, but not until then. The media can say all it likes. EDIT: What am I saying can.!?! The media WILL say all it likes.
Two. Although I didn't expect us to nearly thrash them. I believe there is somewhere on this forum where I have recorded 2-1 to us.
A nicely written piece, and the analysis was sound. I found myself seeing exactly the same things as the author. However it took me 3 x 90 minutes to come to the same conclusion. On the basis of the author's analysis, I might make it 4 to see if I can tease out anything else. DTLW has real competition.
As did I. In fact there were 8 of us who predicted a Saints win in the Prediction League, but only one (saintsfcfan) who got the exact score.
