I used to use the Queen's before going to Spiders in about 82/83.

Although I recall the outside I honestly have no recollection whatsoever what it was like inside.

    Weird.

I'm reliably informed by one of my lads that it is, and that it sells the cheapest beer in town.

Reflections was a bar next to Queens during the 80 ' s , don't recall it being a club .

I seem to remember it being a bar also, with a large glass frontage, maybe i am getting that wrong though. I wasn't really much of a Queens regular, it was just when at college we would go, or as some above would do stop on the way to Spiders but that was only normally at Christmas time.
We rarely went further than Trog Bar, which was often the last one of the night before the bus/walk home or going onto Romeos (then walking home).
We didn't really do any ground breaking places just tended to frequent the normal routes of the day.

Now i am thinking, we did have a period where we would go into what i believe was Royal William down Waterhouse Lane. I recall that being a bit frightening.....

From the road it was to the left of Queens and had the glass front , some mirrors inside , and was a narrow small space .

Did experience the Royal William a couple of times , was at the back of Earl de Grey . Was a bit rough with the patronage of ladies of the night too.

Back in the early 80's I used to use Queens while at tech college. Walked in one lunchtime dressed in all black leather biker gear, boots, long hair, the works trying to look as cool and as hard as ****. I walked up to the juke box ready to bang some Rainbow or something on and managed to press the wrong buttons on the keypad and selected "Do that to me one more time" by Captain and Tenille. Felt a right ****.

Elephant and Castle on Holderness Road was rough as arse holes back in the day.

Pennine Rambler and Skippers weren't for the faint hearted either.

Lord Charles used to be a bit rough. Once saw a bloke with half his face missing at the bar. The landlord told me that it was the result of having a gun put in his mouth a few years before for upsetting some drug lord.

In Hull everybody I went out with used to go on pub crawls of 8/10/12 or more pubs.
I remember moving to London and going into a pub with a few guys. As soon as we got the drinks in I said: "Where are we going next?"
Everybody just looked at me as if I was mad and somebody said: "We've only just got in here!"

I went to Spiders religiously from 83 to 85. Had the good fortune of meeting an amazing girl there, who I'm still with now.

Yep. Went in Skippers one time when i was living up there and ordered a pint, this was early 90's, the place just went still. Every ****er was skint and used to drink cans the landlord sold on the side. I was the only one with a pint.... I supped it quick and went to the bookies.
Drank cans of Skol with the rest after that.

Used to be a decent Saturday night to pick up women in Skippers, as long as you knew someone in there to vouch for you otherwise...
Definitely a scary place to go in. Sunday lunch used to be heaving in there.
Grange was a very very scary place. Locals only.

It did indeed. As Citygirl posted it was called Reflections because of the huge mirrors all over the walls. It was infamous for a shotgun incident one lunchtime if I remember rightly. After Reflections closed it reopened as Vex on Friday and Saturday nights only and subsequently died completely when Queens, which it was part of, got sold for redevelopment.
