'The Pig' (see avatar) insists on biodegradable, and it ALWAYS gets binned. Don't get me on to dogshit Interesting..........I can't say ****...........but dogshit is ok..........hmmm
Especially with Nov 5th coming up. My guy is usually made of stuffed paper bags attached to each other.
Not tipping is a big social no-no over here. That's the equivalent of telling them their mother is a whore and you just had her mount the family dog.
Agree on plastic bag thing. I always grab one from tesco at lunch when I'm just picking up a sarnie and drink so no one gonna make sure I don't.
Never had delivery in UK. My parents were always too cheap to get takeaway. Or any restaurant. Over here anyone in food service industry rely on tips for income. They may only get $2 or $3 an hour base. Restaurants are able to avoid minimum wage constraints that apply elsewhere. Vast majority of income comes from tipping.
Customer service is a big thing over there though isn't it. People grow up and pick a career as a waitress, where as here most people do it when nothing else and just finish uni or as a part time job etc.
This^ We've had the plazzy bag charge out in Sheepland for a while now. Just have to buy a few bag-for-life (sounds like marriage) ones and remember to take them out with you.
Nah. Got some foldable crates I leave in the boot. Just chuck it all back in the trolley and sort it when I get to the car
I've been recycling as much as possible for years, long before it became more organised in Britain. Like you say, they've been doing it a lot longer on the continent. These days, I make about one bin bag full of landfill waste about every 4-6 weeks. The rest is recycled. When I was in the north of Scotland earlier this year, the only thing that seemed to be recycled in any quantity was bottles and cans. Wonder why?
