Watched the goals again this morning and I can't get enough of Pelle's celebration. Aside from SRL, I don't think I have ever seen a guy so passionate after scoring a goal. Yeah you have players these days who do a kneeslide, run into the crowd, or have a big group hug, but to see a guy score and then almost pop a vessel with an explosion of joy is great to see.

Exactly. And then Sadio jumped into his arms and nearly had the life squeezed out of him. Great stuff. This group have most certainly bonded.

He's been a lad looking for a role....talented but bland. Teams were falling over themselves to sign others but not James. Thrilled to see him finding himself...hope it continues. Go JWP. :)

People forget that not all teenagers are Luke Shaw or Wayne Rooney, i.e., boys in men's bodies. I remember Lallana looking talented by not that strong when he first broke through. JWP is still only 20 (?) and he will keep developing physically and as he dos, so his game will keep improving too.

I have nothing to add to the conversation, other than to note that I'll never get tired of watching Tadic spin Ivanovic all over the place in the corner. Such a great moment.

Getting back to the Falcao "penalty" incident, bearing in mind I haven't seen the highlights, 2 points to consider.
    1. Could Stekenleberg have got to the ball quicker, avoiding the coming together?
    2. How did Falcao get to the ball? He and Fonte were shoulder to shoulder, with Fonte getting in front of him, yet 3 yards later, Falcao has got past him. Did Fonte switch off, or was he expecting Stek to get there, making it a communication issue?

Will watch highlights later, but my initial thought was that we could have conceded an unnecessary penalty, had the ref given it.

Don't remember anyone saying JWP has been overhyped or anyone over criticising him, but there were a few, myself included that said he needed to step up to the next level to progress from an average Prem squad player, to the sort of player we all hope he can become.
He's been sensational for the last 2 or 3 games, lets hope he can kick-on from this?

    1. Yes he could possibly have got to it quicker but he was probably (and not unreasonably) expecting Jose to deal with it.
    2. It looked like Jose was trying to block Falcao off but got into the wrong position allowing him to run past. I would say overall Jose should have dealt with it better.

It's not just Mourinho that throws his toys out of the pram, look at this hilarious video of a Chelsea fan ranting after the match (also, watch for the Saints fans halfway through hahaha!)

Not as funny as the true Geordie fan though....perhaps it's the accent. :) Geordie swearing sounds a laugh....Londoner swearing just sounds like a yob.

Quite right Fran. It even works for less profane language. Try saying "Norfolk and chance" in a Geordie accent.

It's funny TSS, because while I totally agree in this case, I hadn't had quite the same impression after any of the goals against Swansea. Am I alone on this one, or was it just the relative surprise of the players doing it on Chelsea's patch that added the extra emphasis?!

Oh, I think the Lads surprised themselves a bit. Hence the extra joy. Graziano needs very little excuse to let rip with a smile anyway, and he had a very big excuse with his goal.

I think the atmosphere in the ground helped a lot too. It was a sizzling atmosphere and the game was played at quite a pace (well, I was knackered just watching it on the television). When the goals come in tense and cracking atmospheres like that, the celebrations tend to be up a notch too. Couple this with what you said about the significance of beating Chelsea at the bridge, they went a little nuts!
