I'd be happy using Townsend on the left. Save money to spend on a proven striker. Any players in their final year that won't sign during the international break, sell in January. They are mostly areas where we have cover, then sign Rhodes.

 

Not sure why people think Rhodes would come to us. He showed no interest when we were a Prem club bidding around £10million for him so why should he now?

I think he's just one of those unambitious players who is settled where he is and doesn't care whether Blackburn do well or not.

I don't know. I just think that practically all players who weren't getting interest from mid table or above Premier League teams would have come to us if the money was right.

We would have had a good idea what wages he was getting so pursuing the transfer suggests we were prepared to either match or improve those wages.
