Two questions; How are the players we sold in the last window doing for their new clubs? And.. How do people rate their replacements?
I was reading a Norwich forum earlier to see what they think of Brady, and it seems he's having a terrific season. They're just in a bind over whether he plays LB or LW, as the latter means leaving out Jarvis or Redmond. Chester's struggles have been well documented.
Is Chester the new Turner? Both outstanding for us, but seemingly not able to attain the same standards for a different club....be interesting to see how he progresses, if we went back up i'd certainly be happy for us to spend 8 mil getting him back
Rosie's managed to get himself in the starting XI at Brighton now, five starts and three sub appearances so far this season. Quinn has had eight starts for Reading so far. McShane's played every game for Reading so far this season and I believe he's captained them (though I thought he looked a bit ropey in the last game I watched). Chester's only had one start and two sub appearances in the league, he's not having a good time at all. Brady's had eight starts and has scored once, he seems to have had a seamless move.
Macca is now Reading's captain, so he's doing well. Edit. Oops a bit slow there. BTW. Sagbo's scored 1 in 1 appearance for Umm Salal Sport Club in Qatar!!!
Back to his Everton standards, although he'll undoubtedly be happy that his PL salary has been reinstated. I think we dodged an unhappy bullet by moving Jelavic on.
Can't trap a ball. Can't head the ball. Frequent air kicks. And Mr. Jelavic thinks he's too good for the Championship. Good riddance.
I don't get where this came from. He was brilliant for us. Scored more PL goals for City than anyone else remember.
Until he wasn't. When we heard, early on after our relegation, that Jela was one of the players who didn't want to play in the Championship I just thought it was bollocks as I never had him down for that type, but what followed, his attitude, more or less confirmed it to be true. I get that players want PL money if it's available, I totally get that, I just didn't think that Jela would have shown the attitude that he did so soon after our relegation. Take Chezzy as an opposite example, no poor attitude but he still went on to get a transfer back to the PL.
Margetts scored a couple for Tranmere at the weekend. Might be wrong but think it was his first start. (sub appearances previously)
