http://sport.stv.tv/football/scottish-premier/celtic/262779-world-cup-striker-offered-celtic-trial/ I fully expect him to come, stay for a few days, head back home and then we'll hear no more about him.
2009 Confederations Cup goal of the tournament Top scorer in South Africa last season He has scored in the African Nations Cup and scored the winner against France in the World Cup And, best of all, from Wikipedia: "Following the 2010 FIFA World Cup, and his impressive performances there, it was revealed that Rangers FC were interested in Mphela and his South Africa team mate Bongani Khumalo to replace the first team players that left following the end of the 2009â10 season. The move however failed to materialise and Mphela stayed with Sundowns." Looking up some press stuff about that, the international websites quote him as saying "I would be crazy to turn down a move to Rangers" and other positive noises calling them "The Manchester United of Scotland". I'd forgotten all about Rangers trying to sign the two South Africans after that World Cup
we bought a job lot of em last summer. what happened to our interest in knowledge musona? i hear Knowledge really knows his way around
I hear Ki from his love of cats and Broon from his love of lego are going to be fighting with each other to see who gets to eat him.
http://sport.stv.tv/football/scottish-premier/celtic/262924-stijn-stijnen-walks-out-on-celtic-trial/ Another triallist bites the dust. What the **** it the point of it all?
That guy sounds like a complete nutjob anyway, good luck to whichever club are unfortunate enough to sign him.
WHy bring him here on trial then? Surely all that needs to happen is to pick up the phone and talk to ex-coaches, players, scouts etc. Why ask a Belgian international goalkeeper to come on trial?
Apparently trials are used when they can get a look at the player any other way ie he has no club or too far out the picture at his club. I guess they must have to impress way over and beyond to win a deal as they will all have baggage therefore few ever will.
Pletikosa is far more experienced at every level than this guy (who hasn't had a club since March/April) yet you don't see him greeting and moaning at every opportunity!
Apparently that knowledge has taken him to glasgow too - evening times reporting he is close to signing for us and jetting to scotland for talks after celtic made a more serious bid for him than that German mob he was going to!!
