Well that's the first half over. Just in case you didn't know, it's 1-1. Surpringly, Jamie Redknapp called both substutions. 2nd half underway now.
I think that football moves very quickly and tactics have to be altered every season. Mourinho has relied on a single defensive anchor for so long that it was always going to catch up on him. Last year it worked and Matic provided great defensive cover for Terry and in turn Terry had a great season. This season many more teams are playing with a completely flexible front four and full backs that are wingers with 2 midfield anchors. Mourinho has one real plan and that is his 4-1-4-1. Falcao is not good as a lone striker and Ramires/Fabregas/Oscar are no good as holding players. When this 4-1-4-1 fails Mourinho resorts to 4-4-2 and long ball normally. Yesterday Mourinho thought he could bulldoze us and went 4-3-3 from the start. At half time he was scared of Mane and put Matic on, however we went more attacking and withdrew one of our holding midfielders and blew them away. Simples. Mourinho needs to move with the times and update his 'tactic' or he will go downhill.

Blowed it, I meant to tell you lot all the songs the Saints crowd sang yesterday. But shortly after we've gone 2-1 up they sang... We want a 3-1 We want a 3-1 We are Southampton We want a 3-1. Which was nice.
I love that Pelle goal. Not because it was good, even though it was. It was the joy of the celebration. And Pelle almost squeezes the life out of Sadio when he hugs him. Lovely to see the joy.
Bloody hell, 3 Saints in Crooks team of the week and I agree with all three. Pelle, Mane and Van Dijk. Pelle and Mane were obvious but pleased he's recognised Van Dijk.
Not sure where to mention this, however I am loving the new artistic images of Pelle and Jay either side of articles on the Saints website.
Can anyone tell me what price Southampton were to win 3-1? A mate in work backed it but hasn't collected it yet so he wants to know what it's worth.

Obviously he will not be here for ever, but I hope we will not countenance a move until he faces his last year on contract (that is 2 seasons away). Don't like quoting Rodgers, but we do have to keep players to continue progressing. Of course Koeman stating the obvious has been picked up by the media as suggesting Mane will be on his way soon.
By the way... James Ward-Prowse - he's been getting called overhyped and criticised by a few, but he is beginning to justify it. The last three or four games he has been sensational.
