The thing is in this situation with Chelsea, this is as bad as it's ever got for Chelsea since RA came in to the club, you've never been 16th in the table, and you think about all the other managers who have payed with there jobs since RA has been there. So it would be very out of character for RA to stick with Mourinho through this slump. I think the only thing that may be keeping him hanging on by his finger tips is not wanting to have to pay off 4 years worth of wages to him. I think if he had a year or 2 left to run he'd of been shown the door by now
I think we are in uncharted territory right now. We've come ful circle back to mourinho where we discarded managers for fun, and it brought us some, but limited sucess at a high price. I think if this was anyone else but jose, manger would be out. I'd probably want that to hapen. but with jose we have a great manager, and no real alternative to turn to. as far as i'm concerenced the minute we get rid of jose, is when we really decide to be in trouble. If we keep hold of him we can for the first time in maybe 20 years, say we have had a 5/6 year project and saw it through to the end. This season, in terms of winning the league and probably CL has passed. But lets at least learn the lessons from it and move forwards. Today he's talking about loftus cheek getting a run of games after the break, also I hope rahmaan gets a run, because for me a big fan of ivanovic, he's ran out of his lifelines. lets actually build a TEAM for the next 5 years, lets buy characters, or build them. We need to start again, basically. and i want jose the best manager of all time at the helm of it. Hopefully the board sees it the same way.
I go along with everything that you've said, however, I just don't see Roman going along with it. I always say that to get a true reflection of how things are, look at the table after 10 games. We have played 8 and it doesn't look too good. There has to be some sort of give and take on team selection and Jose is refusing to budge on obvious issues.
100% this. I've mentioned this for a while since way last season about Ivan getting dropped. Defensively he is a liability and has been with goals and assists masking that. Didn't watch the 2nd half yesterday as i was out but our play is so mundane and Hazard on this form is a liability. One thing we need to do is move the ball about quickly and with Hazard not darting past players he just holds on to it allowing their defence to reset. Willian needs to play and Fabregas need to be dropped. If we aren't playing well the first thing we need to do is be more solid, add more work rate and add more speed so we can at least counter. We're not doing either with Fabregas in the side Baba needs to come in and RLC need to come in and not just for the 1 game, they need a proper run
If Jose had lost the team - that is travesty. Who the **** these players they think they are ?? Our team is hardly as good as Manu's last season team - which is no good. They won't be champions but for Champion Jose!! I don't entirely buy tha Jose lost the team. I think Jose is setting up to leave, blaming everyone from the scouting, buying committee. If Fab, Ivan are not playing every minute - we won't be in this position. We will be atleast at top 10 with RLC & Baba. Jose knows that and that is the reason he will be gone. He wants to be gone. Roman now!!
At the start of last season Jose said he was to build a team for the long term, by solidifying and adding a "couple" of new players each year, and also bringing through some academy players. The idea was that overturning managers on a seasonal basis was over, and spending huge amounts was over. Quick success seems to have done for that plan, as it seems everyone, me included, wants instant success and is not prepared to step back a peg or two in the short term, to achieve more sensible success in the long term. Jose in particular seems to now be offended that he's not getting the funds from Roman to buy big and stay right at the top, where he usually resides. His petulance and bizarre behaviour is borne of his frustration. As good as he is, he has not shown he is a long termer. Perhaps that's at the bottom of our problems? Whatever it is, Jose has the skills to fix things if he has the will.
I think the best thing is not to panic. It's a long season, everyone is dropping points etc. We won't win the league but so what? We need to take a couple of players taken out the firing line (Ivan for starters) and start to build the next team for the next few seasons. The premier league has got more and more consistent and as teams like Liverpool and United have found out, transitional years can see you down in 6th and 7th by the end of the year. Maybe that'll be us this season. I'd like to see RLC, Kenedy and Rahman brought into the first team for a few games and see where we are in a month.
Well I went back over the old news reports and there were more than a few that were along the lines of "no more big spending " Joses' here for the long term", etc, and I got to thinking after quite a few posters agreed with that principal at the time, whatever happened to that idea? Several people have since been posting that Jose is pissed off with Roman because he wouldn't open the wallet , and I just put 2 and 2 together. I might have come up with 5, but it did seem worth putting out there, because sure as God made little apples, something is amiss. So no more than a thought bubble really.
