Looking like my treble for the day is in danger. We are playing well, shouldn't be so far behind, BUT I can't really see us turning this around.
Australia look as if they'll score every time the get into the England 22.......plus their defense and turnovers are immense
Cheika is a top top coach Lancaster now has to make big calls. Think England need to stop taking that Aussie pack on. Kick for territory and turn the Aussies around. Build momentum in their quarter
England poor decision making, poor handling, somehow seem to be the least astute, least intelligent of all the main rugby nations' teams. Doubt we have the ability to pull this back, and I doubt Lancaster has the guile to help them
Why would you write such a comment? Rhetorical question, obviously; to grab attention and annoy people. Cough!
It's been a fairly even game in the scrum, but Australia are well ahead in turnovers. England just make mistakes under pressure I'm afraid. They will get the tag of being chokers.
England just seem to make mistakes when in good positions in the Oz half, whereas Oz look so confident and fluent around our 22. Their 10 & 12 are a cut above ours and it's a decisive difference at present. Unless England hit them with a quick try in the early part of the 2nd half Oz can just coast home in this one...
That's it, the key difference is in the coaches. The Aussies are just better organised, they are implementing plans when the opportunities arise, they know what they need to do when they don't have the ball, look at the arms go up. And they are better than us in the scrum, who would have imagined that a year or so ago when they were a joke? 17 points is a vast amount in this game.
It's also the fact that England make bad decisions on the field. That's not the coach's fault. Some of these England players may not recover from the stick they'll get from this display!
Watson gives a ray of hope... And a great conversion by Farrell, why didn't he go for it against Wales last week?...
I think it's a combination of that, the fact that either they are unprepared for the situations they are facing or simply panic and forget what they have planned, and especially the immense pressure that a very good team are putting them under. One of our problems is we really don't know who our best stand off is. Ford was weak against Fiji, I thought Farrell did ok against Wales, but Ford is looking much better now. Two scores in it now, get the next one and the pressure is on the Aussies. Another hugely entertaining game, great value this competition.
