I know it's still a long way off, but would you be worried about Celtics chances if we signed both Kenny Miller and Carlis Cuellar again?

Hard to say. Cuellar's been out for quite long time with injury and wont be match fit for quite a while. Miller's a prick. If Rangers take him back then they really msut be mugs.

I wasn't worried when quellar was here the first time....we had worse players back then get the better of him

I have never rated miller as a striker...anyone can have a purple patch

So hopefully lennon sees sense and doesn't hijack your bids

Kenny Miller is months away from losing his only asset if he hasn't already, there aren't many pacey 32 year olds.

Cuellar might be a good signing though.

Richard Dunne got picked ahead of Cuellar last season even after falling out with the manager. He wasnt that great first time at rangers and i havent seen anything to suggest he has improved since then, in facthe seems more injury prone if anything.

So no is the short answer

In saying all of the above he'd probably still be the best Defender in Scotland - says a lot about the rest!!

As for Miller i'dbe worried from the point of view the little **** seems to score against us all the time. But im not convinced he and Jelavic complement each other that well. I thought Jelavic and Lafferty actually complemented each other very well

I dunno, we were sloppy at times in defence last season. Cuellar could sort that out. When he was first here he looked head and shoulders above all the other defenders in the league. He went to Villa to get recognised by the national team but he was no more than a squad player there, if he were to return he would be idolised again.

As for Miller and the possibility of him linking up with Jelavic again, it's hard to say. He carried Boyd for quite a bit, came into his own after that and then jumped ship for more money. I have to say that I didn't want him toa rrive 1st time round, not because of his previous clubs but because I didn't think he was any good.

He proved me wrong though and I feel that if he did return a Miller/Jelavic strikerforce could be very effective.

No to Cuellar unless he's going to hide in dark lanes and scare folk as they walk through Govan he's not very good IMO.

Miller scored a barrow load in a short time last season, which is exactly what gets the job down against most teams in this league. They don't have to be good or well worked just plenty of them if he does that again he would be a threat but he has proved to be not prolific more that he has proved to be prolific so not overly concerned.

Miller was scoring for fun last season as he was selling himself to win a large contract...

Seen it countless times - player's contract is coming to an end, suddenly find great form, signs new contract, reverts to type (see Samaras as an example).

Cuellar - he's injury prone and not as good as "Boogie"...

"IMO Cuellar isn't very good?" Come on, he was easily the best defender in Scotland when he arrived. He has been played out of position and suffered a few injuries but I wouldn't go as far to label him not very good.

You have to look back years ago to see when Miller hadn't been playing well. If he were to come back do you honestly think he would have lost his goal scoring ability in 6 months?

Great form by Sammy!?! he played up to January without scoring a goal and got a double against us.
That's not great form. That's why all fans were bemused to see him get a 3 year deal after that performance.

I could be wrong - but i dont think i am in saying when Cuellar arrived last time Celtics defence was made up of Telfer, Caldwell, McManus and Naylor. So saying he was the best in the Country at that time doesnt actually mean he was very good.

Im not saying he was poor - he wasnt. but IMO Weir and Boogie are better and they arent that great either

Not all fans where bemused to see sammy get a 3 year deal. I think Sammy is a great player scoring record is awful and needs to improve but I was happy he got a new deal. (I'm not the only one but we number less than 100).

That'll make two of us then, he's never going to be top goalscorer but I think he's a very good footballer (when he gets his head up) and usually comes into his own when teams try to play against us i.e. europe!

Was this a serious thread!? I mean, the war chest has been opened and so far Rangers have signed some boy from La Liga who few folk had heard of, and are currently setting the back pages alight by trying to buy back old players. Worried!? PANIC STRICKEN more like...yeah....I'm afraid to say i am more concerned over whether i have lasagne or fajitas for dinner.

Cueller was a good defender when he first played for Rangers, but not amazing. Has barely featured regularly for Aston Villa since leaving, be that to loss of form and injury, and is now a cut price bargain buy for the Teddys. Again, 'worried' isn't a word i would use.

As for KM? The thing with Kenny is that i'm not sure he has EVER looked like a fantastic striker. His work rate and speed (if he has much left) mask so many failings in his play, be it his first touch or his rabbit-in-the-headlights moments when he has 1-on-1s. Much better when he doesnt have to think about it.

Frustrating as Samaras can be at times he certainly cannot be faulted for his work-rate which has been immense -I've never seen him 'hide' in a game yet so I'm happy that he's still with Celtic. As for Cuellar and Miller - they did well for Rangers last time for sure which, of course, was why the clubs, to which they were transferred, wanted them! Whether or not they could repeat their performances for Rangers this time around, against the better players now at Celtic, remains to be seen....but worried - no (at least not at the moment! ;-))

Neither Cueller or Miller would get a look in at Rangers. Cueller would be behind Weir, who would get the vote because he is older than most of the
referees who would be afraid to award any frees against him.
Miller behind the North of Ireland master striker Healy and one of England's finest and fattest Beattie.
    Two bench players at best.
