Been doing nicely with the handicaps thus far but I'm seriously tempted to back the Aussies at 5/4 against the hosts tomorrow night. Hopefully the patriotic money will keep the Aussies the right price, 11/8 would be a serious rick
The All Black's are 1/1000 with Betfair with Georgia 14/1 ??? Georgia are available at 100/1 with most firms and you can get close to 500/1 on the exchange! Betfair sportsbook must be taking a strong view on the Georgian's. Edit: They've moved them to 45/1 now. Are they having a giraffe. Georgia are 500/1 shots. Seemples.
Definitely the value as much as it pains me to say it. The Aussies have been excellent recently and if the game becomes a breakdown battle they will win. Hopefully England exploit their weaknesses and play to our own strengths. Must must must kick well and find touch because Israel folau is waiting! Jerry Guscott has done a smashing article on what England need to avoid that happening on Saturday night. Although the Aussies have improved the scrum, this is a mighty test at the weekend and it's gonna be a direct, physical encounter. If England win its gonna be a MENTAL weekend next week with a 3 way battle for the QFs, will make great watching for all neutrals! Fingers firmly crossed!!!
Someone needs to tell the All Blacks how ridiculous they look doing that dance, if I was the captain on the other team id instruct my team to do the Macarena back at them Anyways Georgia +64 is the bet to have here
Handicap nowhere near touched once more tonight, New Zealand's attitude absolutely stinks. I hope they get caught for a big defeat when they do get knocked out, hopefully by us. It's like Gary Barlow once said though, thing's can only get better. Well done if you were on Shergar.
As well as being the worlds number 1 side, New Zealand look to me like the most overrated side to. I'm not going to lie and say I've watched loads of there games before this WC buti have watched all 3 of there matches at the WC, and they look knowhere near the team they are billed as. Yeah they deserve respect for who they are, but the 11/10 on offer about them to win the cup looks like the worst value bet I've ever seen. From what I've seen at the WC so far I'd be betting 5/1 the field. I'm actually going to go onto Betfair and lay them for a big sum, as they should be knowhere near that short on performances so far. I hope Ireland do beat them STH, though I fancy they'll be playing France, as you guys will top the group as will they. France will definately give them a hard game though, and may even cause a minor upset
I think the fact they have faced inferior teams so far has a fair deal to do with them not looking so good, I just think the attitude they have shown so far has been poor, they will get caught out if they don't buck up before meeting a genuine top 5 side in the latter parts. I'm suprised, as usually they are all business and will pound sides but they are just going through the motions for me. Looking forward to the big one tomorrow. I think England will take all the beating, the group of death is certainly living up to it's billing.
Well that could be the case STH, but there first game was a tough one on paper, the Argentinians are no mugs, so I don't think they've played all poor sides. The game tomorrow is pretty much a knockout game for us, if we lose were out if we win were through, as well roll over Uruguay no problem, and we got the bonus point against Fiji which the other 2 didn't. I'm not as confident as you are though that we'll win tomorrow, I think it's going to be very close. I just hope we can nick it though. I think a kick made or missed here or there will be the difference between the sides. I don't see there being many tries
Just realised it's 1966 all over again when the England football team 'strangely' managed to play all their matches at Wembley. History repeats itself this year in the Rugby World Cup!!!! These are the only two 'recent' tournaments of this stature (Rugby World Cups, World Cup finals and European Nations finals) where the home nation has engineered such an advantage!!!
If the game was played on neutral ground, I'd be pretty confidant of a Wallaby win, but as it's there, I'm scared ****less.
5/1 the field, behave Shergy! I'm like you I've taken on the All Backs in these handicaps too for easy money but there's no way I think these error strewn performances will halt them lifting the Webb Ellis trophy. 11/10 is certainly a skinny price but there very much the probable winners and I can't say there has been any other team that's looked THAT good yet. I'd say NZ are around a 13/8 shot myself
So it would be less of an advantage playing at another ground in England? The World Cup is held in England, so regardless of what stadium they choose we will always have home advantage. The main reason we are at Twickenham every game though is clearly for financial reasons, at up to £900 a ticket for an England game there hardly going to hold it at Elland Road, and let Namibia v Georgia have the 82,000 seats at Twickenham instead, are they?
Surely you can see the difference between 'home' advantage and playing all your games at your home ground. I repeat that in only two tournaments has this clear advantage been 'allowed'. Is the point of the competition to find the 'best' team or to furnish the RFU with even more funds!
Oh do stop your bleating, BayernKenny, getting really fed-up with the Schadenfreude on here, especially from you and that Mr.B.O.Salmon. The latter once had the cheek to tell me this was the world of cyber and nationalities didn't enter into it. What utter tripe.........
Jaysus old dear, calm yourself down! What have I said wrong now anyway? That I think Australia are the wrong price to beat England or that NZ are likely to win the thing...Such left field suggestions, off to the gallows with me Grow up mate.
If I'm not mistaken we take on the mighty Uruquay at the Etihad. If it goes against us tonight (and I suspect England fans are ****ting themselves far more than the Aussies who have another bite of the cherry if needed against an injury ravaged team they hardly ever lose to) then there won't be much margin for the touts.
Interesting statement by Danny Cipriani. Not a single Australian player is good enough to make it into the England side. Loyalty or delusion?
