    Deeply offended. :)

Ps. If it's time to leave "it" why do you keep bringing it back up? Odd that. Me thinks you're enjoying the reaction.

It was posted on Koeman's RAWMOK and Dave mentioned that he believed we were better looking on average than Cheries fans, based in his experience. We then realised he's met me, Tom, Saintsalona, LTL and Vin. Vin is the spit of George Clooney*, which means that the rest of us our dog ugly.

    .

    * George Clooney is also the name of a chimpanzee at Marwell, so we're not sure which one it is yet*

DiCanio, Gus & Dick lost their first game in charge, and won their second.... against Newcastle.

Guess who they have in three games time. Yep. Its going to happen, its seems to be part of their long term plan.
    Bizarre.

Tbf, he's on a hiding to nothing. He's done plenty in his career and he doesn't need Sunderland to drag it all down.

Personally, I'm surprised at times by the strength of some of the opinions on Pellè. Without meaning to start it all off again...
Sure he has both good games and bad games.
His strength imho is largely being in the right position at the right time.
His weakness is not finishing as many as he should from those positions.
He's probably around average at bringing others into play (when you consider his supply and the level of the options his teammates give him).
When I say the above, I acknowledge that he gives the ball away more than the other players, however, playing that role as a lone front man with at times no other men in close support has to be the most difficult in terms of picking out an option in a more crowded area of the pitch. He does however, at least try to create better chances for others rather than pass it backwards just to keep possession in a less dangerous area.
He's basically a player that's playing at a club around about the right level for his ability e.g. likely 6th-10th place finishers. He'll score 12-15 again in the league this season and assist about half as many, but that's a pretty reasonable return for us (bearing in mind he's also not on pens). Not great, not awful.
If his finishing in particular, and his supply were 10-20% better, he'd likely be playing for a guaranteed top 6 club with wages 2-3x what we're paying.

*my following statement is about football play, NOT about the player mentioned*

As a statement about play in football, that is loose to say the least. If you had the word 'occasionally' or 'sometimes' or 'at the right time' in it, I could see the point.

For me, the sentence as it stands shows symptoms of the English disease. You can play a ball backward to help keep possession as this can help create the right opening. Working hard in possession while trying to find an opening is good play in my eyes and is necessary to stop a team from regularly giving the ball back to the opposition. If you're facing away from the goal then passing the ball backwards to a less dangerous position will give your team mate a chance to create a better chance whilst preventing your opponent from having the ball. The real difficulty is getting the blend right of keeping possession and risking a pass that may create a better chance but also create a chance for your opponents to win the ball.

Luke Shaw has put up a picture on Instagram after his operation. Amazingly he is able to apply weight to the limb and he isn't in a huge cast. I say amazing because 1] it was both tibia and fibula which broke and 2] the leg changed direction, so it wasn't minor. Being so young I bet he heals remarkably quickly. The time will be all the fitness he'll have to recover:

It's time consuming and can be frustrating, but as long as my boy still wants to do it, I'll carry on. The decimation of players being poached by teams higher up is always the biggest problem.

Do you do the whole finance side as well? I had to start doing more of it which is what made me quit.

See our club treasurer quit so the guy that ran the whole club took over. He started passing on more stuff to the managers. Shame tho I enjoyed my time doing it.
