This doesn't surprise me in the least to be honest...I would imagine that Newcastle is also high on robbery and assault as it is full of absolute scumbags..

Have you stepped outside the city center? I lived in Blakelaw for a few months and it was hell on earth, I've worked some of the bars too. What a bunch stupid, toothless, ugly, bad tempered, Jeremy Kyle fodder, inbred imbeciles who don't have the emotional or academic intelligence to deal with their frustrations so bounce about all angry for **** all. Blakelaw isn't even the worst estate there either. Majority of the City is a ****hole full of morons. Like a bigger version of Boro but Boro don't have enough good areas to redeem themselves.

Anyway I had enough after a few months and moved to Gateshead, that was a **** hole too but the Attitude of people was noticeably more pleasant.

I worked at Blakelaw and Cowgate for a few months. Makes the Tram Car Inn look lik Bel Air. What an absolute cesspit.
Bloke pulled a sawn off shotgun at us in one place cos a plasterer had parked his van in an ice cream spot.
On the other hand if you wanted anything, and I mean anything, they would get you it half price.

Blakelaw, Westerhope & Cowgate are ****ing ****holes.
My Janie's brothers live in Cowgate & are great lads but the place is a boil on the arse of humanity.
Can you remember the Ord Arms? Long gone now but like you say there'd be some **** in there who'd get you owt you want.
    What a ****ing dump.

Millions of crimes get incorrectly logged. Car theft for example, if a force needs to reduce numbers of auto crime in their beat they just log it as a burglary even though the offender only popped his head through a door and swiped the keys for the motor.

Statistics from the home office are worth **** all, they take the path of least resistance in logging crimes of any sort.

Just worked there Billy never ever ventured in for a pint anywhere. What was funny was there was a municipal swimming baths. Seemed strange as none of them washed in their own houses never mind anywhere else.

There might be a champions league burglary completion, where they go to Monaco, and other glitzy cities to rob.

Jesus! You lot must think Sunderland is a cosmopolitan haven compared to the capital,of the north east. Only go to Sunderland for games against us, it's a dreadful ****hole. Nothing there of note and a ****e night out, but don't let your dreams get in the way of facts. <ok>

Maybe but we didn't come on bigging Sunderland up as the Barcelona of northern Europe.
What you need to remember is that both Liverpool & Glasgow also won European city of culture. Enough said. <ok>

Worked up the west end and all over Newcastle for 30 years, it was a great place, no different to Sunderland, except for the higher levels of immigration, the people are generally very much like us the salt of the earth.
