    Truth is Page that despite some dross in the CL it's been far more competitive with top 4 teams in it. You just have to look at the Q/F S/F and winners over the last couple of decades to see that.

    Had it been the old format, with our record in straight knockout competitions, with fewer competitive teams in it, we would have won many more. The CL as it is, has actually saved your record <whistle>

    Winning it whilst not qualifying as champions cheapens the tournament.:biggrin:

    And yes Utd won the FA Cup v us in 77 by a fluked goal.

    The fact is if your theory is correct, the Uefa Cup had more quality teams in it than the European Cup.

    But we won 3 of those as well.:biggrin:

    How was that a penalty? Zaha dives before contact. If he'd kept going the contact was there and then yes but he fell down rather than try and jump over so you can't even argue he was just trying to avoid injury..

    Otherwise players can just fall down anywhere and say they thought they were "going" to get fouled....Just silly
