Rumours are gathering Dick will walk tomorrow. He has already walked out of todays press conference after being asked if he is leaving us.
Dunno what I will feel about this if true ?

Don't see why he'd leave after he's walked out having been asked if he'd leave. Seems like he just can't be arsed with the press.

My feelings exactly, these press conferences should be to talk about tomorrow's game, Dick must get sick of answering questions about his future, probably as sick as Liverpool's manager is as well.

Client of mine writes for the Mirror (good bloke though!) & he says the word is DA is pissed off at the lack of signings he said were needed. How pissed off he doesn't know, but there seem to be rumblings...

    This.

He's probably sick of Press conduct just like the majority of the league is. Really time to start taking the press with a pinch of salt. Football Journalism is on it's knees, club relations across the board are at an all time low. The press blame the clubs and the clubs blame the press You only need to read or hear the dross being served up to see the state of it.

You see Sid, we already know this. Dick has said as much. So you've got a man on the inside and all he's got is what we already know. But anyone would think the press have a fly on the wall, spying on everything. If the press is to go on, they'd have us all to believe Dick is on his way out and they've managed obtain the shortlist so far consisting of

    Big Sam
    Dyche
    Stam
    Vieira
    Mazzarri
    and Redknapp

all apparently in line to become our next head coach according to various media reports this week.

It's bollocks of course, they know as much as us and are simply displaying the type of behaviors that Premier League clubs are sick to the back teeth of.

I dont see why managers should ever bother talking to the press in the first place.

Same here, In Dick's mind he's there to talk about tomorrow's match, fulfilling the club's contractual obligations and all the Press can do is try and turn it into an episode of Eastenders. I'd have sent Paul Bracewell out instead

It makes a lot of sense to let Brace do the talk, I thought the previous manager should have sent out a number two to do the press interviews. <laugh>

Dick likes to use the media to send a message. I bet he's finding that increasingly difficult with the British press. He won't want Brace to go out there and talk for him but when they're going on like this what's the point of even trying?

I do wish you ****s would stop sacking managers just before you play us. It is a ****ing cycle of bull **** that leads to us losing all the time <grr>

Paul Gascoigne once said if he took his wife to a nice restaurant, a member of the press would be trying to trip her up walking down the steps. If he lamped the offender (as any husband would do) it was reported next day that a pissed up Gazza had a sordid scrap with a perfectly innocent reporter. He said that they were not reporting the news any more - they were creating the news.

I hope Dick Advocaat stays here till he's at least 150 years old, just to annoy the scummy little b*stards.

Hope he doesn’t walk, I’m probably like a lot on here just wanting him to succeed (I know for our club) but for the man himself. Must be shaking his head with disbelief to the start we’ve had. One win and I think we will kick on from there. Here’s to Dick and Sunderland AFC for tomorrow.
