In more fun news, interesting to see Charlotte Church on Question Time. Smart girl actually. Had a VERY amusing, drunken evening with her about a year and a half back, which ended up with me turning her down. WHY DID I DO THAT!!!?

Not surprised. He's already shown himself to be quick brained. Not so hot on the Question of Sport stuff if I recall, but then who needs a brain stuffed full of sport trivia.? Err.. hmm. And just realised it's the regular version, not the celeb version. Graeme Le Saux in the Dictionary Corner too. It's all the Channel Islanders.
Obama on the shooting. It starts at 23m 17s, so you don't have to see the whole thing. He looks extremely pissed off with it.
Powerful stuff indeed. It must be so frustrating for a president like Obama who knows exactly what needs to be done over gun ownership and regulation, but is completely hogtied by Congress. As he said, hopefully he won't have to make another speech like that while he's still in office.
He went as far as he could with that. He tiptoed on questioning his country's ability to see the truth glaring right in front of them. It was brave to the point of remaining presidential. Personally, I don't think he has a hope in hell because I don't think the USA public, as a whole, can see the other side. Americans are often accused of insularity, and it's that very trait that makes them want to continue as they do. They can't see the other side of the argument because they have little or no experience or evidence of it. However, he did mention polls suggesting that people want a change to safer gun laws. One can only hope that this particular shooting becomes a catalyst for it. What are the chances.?
My Us colleagues look at me in amazement whenever I talk about guns with them. They just don't see the connection.
Whatever you drank that night........don't drink it again , how could you turn Miss Church down? She is beautiful, smart, funny and rich.
You made a terrible mistake, one that I can only imagine you'll regret for the rest of your life. I don't suppose you got her number?
Okay, here's the thing, and this is really not going to help me.... The reason I said no (and this is absolutely genuine), is because I had a really, really important meeting the next day and to have gone to that with zero sleep and dripping with booze (I mean there was going to be a hangover already, that much was clear) would have been catastrophically bad. Here's another thing though. The meeting actually came to nothing. I'm sure there's a lesson in there somewhere.
I've never known rich to be a huge benefit in those situations. Let's be honest, I don't think she was looking for a 'life partner' that night!
