Second choice FBs and first choice otherwise. I’m surprised. Last year Pochettino played only heavily rotated teams in the group stages of the Europa. I also would have liked Clinton to get a start.

The thinking may be that we’re nearing a break, so we can play the same players three times in eight days. I would have swapped the teams he played against Arsenal and this one, actually--except I would have rested Dier today.

I just want to say: I really love Spurs playing in Europe. We can knock the Europa as much as we want but it's basically more Spurs games to watch and as a fan that's always a good thing.

Don't know why I felt it was relevant but needs saying now and again. Bonus Spurs matches midweek are an unqualified positive.

This is our hardest group game, on paper, so I'm glad that we've picked a strong side for it.
A win would be massive, but even a draw would be a decent result, as long as we win our home games.
I really don't want anyone from our first XI traveling to Azerbaijan for a midweek game before we face Chelsea, frankly.

    Er, yeah. something like that.
They've still got some good players. I doubt this will be an easy game, especially as their pitch tends to be utter ****.

Lloris' dad was a banker in Monte Carlo? Why haven't I heard that before? <laugh>

I'm glad pochettino doesn't share your view on this, Spurs have a strong tradition in Europe and I for one would like to see us win a European cup in my lifetime.

Decent cross by Trippier after a good pass to him. Nearly an OG.

Few people on here called it when he signed and Trippier's crossing has looked very good.

I forgot how much Lacina Traore reminds me of a more athletic Peter Crouch.

Nearly in by Chadli. Should hit the target, really.
Lamela had an open goal if he'd have squared it. <doh>
